A Perfect Blood characters
By Kim Harrison
Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.
Rachel Morgan (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
The witch-born runner now legally identified with demon society. Rachel's shunning has been lifted, but fear of being found or summoned by demons has led her to wear enchanted silver that hides her aura and blocks most of the magic on which she once relied.
Ivy Tamwood (Supporting)
Appears from the start
Rachel's living-vampire partner and housemate. Ivy recognizes that Rachel's isolation from magic is also separating her from the church family, even as a new investigation puts them all at risk.
Jenks (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The pixy partner in Vampiric Charms, still rebuilding family life after Matalina's death. Jenks supplies surveillance and field support that Rachel especially needs while the silver band limits her usual abilities.
Trent Kalamack (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A powerful elf whose cross-country alliance with Rachel replaced some of their old hostility with wary trust. Trent understands the political and magical costs of Rachel's new demon status better than most of her friends.
Algaliarept (Supporting)
Also known as Al
Appears from the start
Rachel's demon teacher. Her aura-hiding silver keeps Al at a distance along with the rest of demon society, but it cannot end the obligations and knowledge already shared between them.
Glenn Gordon (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
An FIB detective and longtime ally of Rachel's team. Glenn brings Rachel into a murder inquiry involving victims whose altered bodies point toward forbidden genetic work and organized hatred of Inderlanders.
Nina (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 3
A living vampire assigned to work with the FIB. Nina is capable and ambitious, but an undead master can use their blood bond to speak and act through her, making cooperation with her both valuable and unsettling.
Felix
First appears in chapter 3
An old undead vampire with influence over Cincinnati's vampire hierarchy. Felix can enter Nina's awareness through their bond, lending her his experience while treating her body and choices as extensions of his authority.
Dr. Cordova (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 4
An FIB administrator overseeing the investigation. Dr. Cordova wants results but limits Rachel's access and authority, regarding an independent runner with demon ties as a liability as well as a useful consultant.
Wayde Benson (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 5
A Were hired to provide Rachel with personal security. Wayde is patient with her resistance to being guarded and brings a professional caution that contrasts with Rachel's habit of entering danger first.
Winona (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 19
A witch held by the anti-Inderlander group HAPA and subjected to experiments that alter her body. Winona helps Rachel understand what the captors are attempting and becomes an ally inside their facility.
Rynn Cormel (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 25
The politically dominant undead vampire in Cincinnati. Rynn wants Rachel to use her connection to demons to solve the problem of vampires losing their souls at death, a demand that extends beyond the immediate murders.
