A Thousand Li: The First War

The third book of A Thousand Li finds Long Wu Ying still short of the Energy Storage cultivation stage as the sect's kingdom moves toward open war with the state of Wei. While training through mock battles and weighing whether to volunteer for combat alongside sect seniors, he learns that a local lord has blocked his home village's planned evacuation from the fighting. Torn between the sect's demands and his family's safety, Wu Ying decides against joining the war directly and instead commits to a mission outside the war effort: traveling with close friends to confront the political obstacle threatening his village and see it safely relocated before the conflict reaches it.
