Armor World

By B. V. Larson

The eleventh entry in the Undying Mercenaries series finds legionnaire James McGill balancing fatherhood with military duty as his daughter Etta chooses a scientific path over joining the legions. When a massive artificial sphere approaches Earth, McGill returns to active duty as Earth's forces scramble to identify and stop what looks like an existential threat. After conventional weapons fail to stop the vessel, McGill leads a boarding force into its cavernous interior, where the mission turns into a desperate fight for survival against biomechanical creatures and a hull that traps his soldiers inside. When the vessel later disgorges invaders onto Earth itself, McGill and his legion are sent to confront a ground assault whose true nature, including its transformation of an entire town's population, only gradually becomes clear.
