Brothersong characters

By TJ Klune

Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.

Carter Bennett (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

The eldest of the three Bennett brothers, who has spent his life as the loud one: the joker, the one who fills silences so nobody looks too closely at him. He has left Green Creek alone to follow Gavin, which means travelling without his alphas and outside his pack bonds, something a wolf is not built to survive for long. Underneath the noise he is exhausted, angry at how much of his family's history was kept from him, and quietly certain that he is the one who is expendable.

Gavin (Supporting)

Appears from the start

A wolf who spent years unable to hold human form, and the son of the witch Robert Livingstone. He left Green Creek rather than stay where his father's name poisons every room. He is wary of people, direct to the point of bluntness when he can speak at all, and attached to Carter Bennett in a way neither of them has explained.

Kelly Bennett (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The middle Bennett brother, mated to Robbie Fontaine and steadier than he was, who is furious with Carter for leaving and terrified of what leaving will cost him.

Joe Bennett (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The youngest Bennett brother and an alpha of the pack alongside his mate Ox. He carries his father's power and his father's habit of deciding what other people need to know.

Ox Matheson (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Alpha of the Bennett pack, mate to Joe, and the calmest person in it. He was made an alpha by the pack that chose him rather than by inheritance, and he is the one Carter measures himself against.

Gordo Livingstone (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The Bennett pack's witch, mated to Mark Bennett, and Robert Livingstone's son. He has spent his whole life defining himself against his father, and the discovery that his father has another son is not something he has made peace with.

Mark Bennett (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Brother of the late Bennett alpha, uncle to Carter, Kelly and Joe, and Gordo's mate. He is the pack's patient one, and the one who most often says the thing everybody else is avoiding.

Robbie Fontaine (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Kelly's mate and a member of the Bennett pack, who once had his memories taken from him and rebuilt himself afterward. He is warm, resilient, and better than most at recognizing when someone is lying about being fine.

Elizabeth Bennett (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Mother of Carter, Kelly and Joe and widow of the Bennett alpha, who has buried a husband and watched her sons leave one at a time, and who keeps the house standing regardless.

Robert Livingstone (Antagonist)

Appears from the start

A witch carrying stolen alpha power, father of Gordo Livingstone and of Gavin. Cast out and stripped of his magic decades ago by the Bennett alpha, he has spent the years since making Omegas, taking what he needs from other people's minds, and working toward something the pack still does not fully understand.

Thomas Bennett (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The Bennett alpha, Carter's father, killed years before this book opens. He is present throughout in memory and in the consequences of decisions he made and never explained, several of which his sons are only now discovering.

Michelle Hughes (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 14

The alpha of all wolves, governing from Caswell, Maine. Her authority over the Bennett pack has been finished since what was done to Robbie under her roof, and her position is far less secure than she maintains.
