Duncan Idaho (Supporting)

The latest Duncan Idaho ghola, now in possession of the memories of all his many lives and serving as a mentat of great value. He is kept aboard a cloaked no-ship on the sisterhood's homeworld, both prisoner and prized asset, his loyalties and his strange accumulated experience watched carefully by the Bene Gesserit.

Murbella (Supporting)

A former Honored Matre now training among the Bene Gesserit, bonded to the Duncan Idaho ghola. Fierce and proud, she moves uneasily between two rival sisterhoods, trusted fully by neither, as the Bene Gesserit work to remake her into one of their own.

Sheeana (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The young woman who can command sandworms, now a Reverend Mother among the Bene Gesserit on their homeworld. She is central to the order's effort to grow new worms and revive the spice supply, her rare gift a cornerstone of their plans for survival.

Miles Teg (Supporting)

The celebrated old Bashar Miles Teg, brought back by the sisterhood as a ghola in the body of a child and raised to recover the military genius they desperately need. Once again a boy carrying the promise of a legendary commander, he must grow into the abilities his past self possessed.

Scytale (Minor)

The last surviving Master of the Bene Tleilax, held captive aboard the no-ship. He alone carries the secret knowledge of the axlotl tanks and the making of gholas, and he guards it as his only leverage, bargaining and scheming for a future for his vanished people.

The Honored Matres (Antagonist)

Appears from the start

The violent matriarchy from the Scattering that is conquering the old empire and hunting the Bene Gesserit toward extinction. They wield overwhelming force and a coercive sexual mastery, and they are themselves fleeing some greater terror further out in the unknown.

Dama (Antagonist)

Also known as The Great Honored Matre

First appears in chapter 2

The ruthless supreme leader of the Honored Matres, who commands their war of conquest against the old empire and the Bene Gesserit. Domineering and merciless, she embodies the raw power and cruelty of her order.
