The fourteenth entry in the Undying Mercenaries series pulls James McGill from family leave for a classified mission on the Moon, where excavation has uncovered a colossal buried structure of unknown origin. Sent alone through an experimental teleportation device to investigate, McGill discovers the object is a vast, dead alien construct filled with the remains of a failed invasion, a find his commanding officer tries to suppress out of fear over its political consequences. When the cover-up fails and a signal draws competing alien powers to Earth's doorstep, McGill becomes the sole witness both sides will accept, and must talk his way through a murder accusation and a threat to the moon itself.
