After restoring the Crown of Elysium, Felix expands his campaign against the Hierophant, the gods, and the approaching Ruin. He restores Nagast after sabotage, reunites Garion, strengthens the Shadowgate network, and sends three forces to rescue endangered Unbound. Harn's group liberates the Poison Fields and kills its Overlord. Pit's fleet finds Euphonia, claims Sunara, and ends its corrupted storm. Felix infiltrates the Violet Tower, destroys its mass-oath anchor, and frees the seer Elowen. The rescues are undercut when Imara abducts the Sylphan princess and the kobold twins Kevin and Shadow. Felix reaches Master Tier, then later evolves his primordial bloodline before killing the goddess of fortune. Experience from the kill feeds an unstable advancement that releases a cardinal beast from his shadow. Gabby, secretly herself despite her oaths, has delivered the captives and the Thonic Star to the Hierophant, leaving Felix's coalition poised for another rescue while the Ruin closes in.

Previously: Felix Nevarre, an Earth-born Unbound, became Autark of Nagast and king of Pax Rell while gathering a coalition of fighters, mages, territories, and fellow Unbound. Pit remains his bonded Tenku companion, Vessilia Dayne his dragoon partner, and allies including Harn, Zara Cyrene, Atar V'as, Alistair, Evie Aren, Beef, Archie, and Karys Taiv support his rule. Felix's sister Gabby was transformed into the divine weapon Imara and left under the Pathless's control. Felix defeated the Pathless at Pax Rell, but other gods consumed the fallen deity's power. The Hierophant's scheme had summoned the Unbound as prospective divine vessels and also drew the memory-erasing Ruin back toward the continent. Felix now rules four territories, has restored Pax Rell's true seal, and knows that the Hierocracy's subordinate seals weakened older territorial systems. Dragons, ancient Nym works, the scattered Unbound, and the remaining gods are all tied to the conflict immediately ahead.

The Pathless's death plunges Amaranth into crisis while the Hierophant uses limited territorial authority to contain the damage. Loosened but still imprisoned gods identify Felix as the killer and direct the oath-bound Imara into a new campaign. In Pax Rell, Felix survives a dangerous fourth threshold, reaches level 100, and gains a title that lets him share power with sufficiently close allies. He restores and binds the Crown of Elysium, which protects his memories of the Ruin, locates ancient seals, and resonates with Nemean artifacts. The completed Crown reveals a larger task: restore true seals, claim at least seven territorial seats, and recover the remaining Empyrean Regalia. Felix appoints Roland Dayne chancellor of Pax Rell and plans to recover dormant dragoon fortresses. Research confirms that knowledge of the Ruin is erased and suggests it hunts exceptional power. Felix and two chanters begin an array to locate other Unbound. Meanwhile, Archie gains a stronger bond with Felix, and a surviving shrine suggests that divine power once depended on sacrifice.

Vessilia and her dragon discover a concealed ancient hatchery. Its failing machinery nearly destroys one hundred eggs, but Vessilia, Beef, and Beef's undead companion save ninety-nine living hatchlings and reanimate the final egg as an independent undead dragon. Felix's locating array finds endangered Unbound in several regions: two kobolds in the jungle, a reptilian defender beneath Amaranth, a winged Sylphan amid a divine storm, and a Theron mage controlled by silver threads. He also sees Gabby showing unexpected distress beside the Hierophant. Returning through the Shadowgates, Felix's party is pursued by warped Void creatures. At Elder Throne, they discover that the Sworn have bombed the city, critically injured Atar V'as, and corrupted Nagast's seal. Felix destroys the local Sworn chapter, extracts information about collaborators, and restores the true seal with the Crown. Atar survives only as a fire-sustained skeleton, and the nature of the flame presence acting through him remains unclear. The city is secure again, but the rescue campaign and sabotage investigation remain unfinished.

Felix upgrades Elder Throne into a far stronger citadel and gains a Shaper's Sanctum. He commits his coalition to simultaneous Unbound rescues while pursuing ancient seals that can weaken Hierocratic control. In the divided Grelden Hills, Prince Kael traps Tevin and Naga forces until Felix intervenes and kills him in a formal duel. Felix then finds tortured Hierocratic captives beneath Prince Garan's palace. Garan attacks to preserve the divided order and dies. Restoring the old seat reunites the territory as Garion, removes the surviving princes' authority, and ends the war with Tevin. Kaivin and Tyvon later swear voluntarily to Nagast. Beneath Garion, Felix clears linked Nym research sites, recovers spirit-tree seeds, and restores facilities once used to study the Green Wilds. A local council and elected chancellor take responsibility for the renewed territory. During the expedition, an imprisoned urge tells Felix he is changing before he consumes it. Back at Elder Throne, Archie tests his improved stone-travel ability and reveals a protective concern for vulnerable children, while Cantus observers quietly assess the growing power of the Unbound.

Felix binds Atlantis to the Heart of Shadows, reconnecting paired gates, then survives the Pool of Halcyon Oaths to transform his sanctuary into Void Nexus. The network becomes more stable, though dangerous Void creatures can still intrude. Atar's crisis worsens when the fire urge animating his skeletal body tries to rebuild him. Felix enters Atar's failing core, holds it together, and channels a boon after forcing the urge to ask for help. Atar returns to a living body with a weakened fire presence sharing his core. The Hierophant, meanwhile, knows that Gabby is inwardly aware despite her oaths. Gabby is revealed as the same person as Imara and must conceal her recovered will while the Hierocracy organizes a continent-wide hunt for the Unbound. Felix answers by publicly disclosing that he, Beef, and Archie are Unbound, explaining the gods' vessel plan and the approaching Ruin. His assembled allies accept the danger. Three rescue forces deploy: Harn's group enters the jungle, Vessilia and Pit head into Sunara's storms, and Felix leads a small magical team toward Levantier.

Felix's Levantier team enters the mage city covertly and discovers that pervasive oaths reinforce its guards and institutions. The Violet Tower holds the territorial seal, but its wards make direct assault impractical, so Zara seeks a former insider. In Sunara, Pit's group opens an ancient authority-locked facility and finds nine intact Nym manaships. Vessilia converts them into a fleet and follows a route into the magical storm. A pale Tenku appears while fleeing a vast shadow creature whose wounds spawn smaller attackers. Pit rescues her, destroys the creature, and uses his bond with Felix to consume its divine remains. The battered fleet now has a possible guide to the hidden Chimera enclave. In the jungle, Harn's force reaches Morva, where the Overlord's enforcers extort residents and condemn debtors to lethal labor in the Poison Fields. Archie and Beef enter without authorization, intervene when a mounted knight attacks the Wormkin resistance, and save several fighters. Their reconnaissance becomes an alliance opportunity when the resistance agrees to take them toward its secret leaders.

Felix contacts an elderly former Violet Tower page-right who recognizes the unusual forces within Felix and Atar. Restoring the mage's removed memories reveals the Thonic Star, an eight-pointed weapon powered by Levantier's mana vent. Its test kills another Tower Master and pierces a mountain, while silver bindings erase the inventor's knowledge. Felix concludes that the weapon can kill gods, but draining the vent could destroy the floating city. In Sunara, the pale Tenku guides Vessilia's fleet into Euphonia, a hidden Chimera city that shelters refugees. The enclave distrusts companions and hesitates to believe that its Sylphan princess is an Unbound hunted as a prospective vessel. Pit learns that the princess has repeatedly opened inter-realm gateways to rescue communities from the Void. Rather than wait for the council, he invokes the right to undertake the Tempest test. In Morva, Archie and Beef fail a divine-influence test and fight through the Wormkin stronghold's traps, only to discover that its supposed dragon leaders are two Earth-born kobold Unbound operating mechanical statues.

The kobold twins are Kevin and Shadow. They invented the Worm identity to protect their resistance and refuse evacuation until Morva and the surrounding towns are liberated. Harn's arriving army gives them the force needed to attack the Overlord. In Levantier, the former page-right escorts Felix, Zara, Atar, and Alistair into the Violet Tower. They recover evidence that the Thonic Star draws from a punctured Nemean mana well containing a primordial remnant. Felix finds Elowen suspended in a divination array. She is a Theron Unbound and true seer who believes freeing the gods is the only way to survive the Ruin, but silver oaths also control her actions. During the battle, Felix traces the tower's mass bindings to the Girded Vow. The Star severs his left arm and leg, yet he destroys the oath anchor, frees Elowen, and redirects the weapon into the Tower Master. The tower begins collapsing as Felix escapes with Elowen. At the same time, Harn's force reaches the Poison Fields, where living prisoners are being used to refine ingredients for essence draughts.

Beef attacks the Overlord's adamant riders, protects escaping prisoners, and deploys armored risen across the Poison Fields. Harn, Kevin, and Shadow break through the manor defenses and kill Cade at the tower approach. Inside, they discover captives sealed in refinement jars while the Overlord, empowered as a divine vessel, turns their suffering into essence-draught ingredients. Archie phases prisoners out of the jars. Kevin and Shadow combine into the four-armed Dragomir, and Harn accepts Felix's distant boon, evolving several skills. Together they bind the Overlord and collapse the tower onto him. His divine protection fails, killing him and ending the refinement regime. The surviving captives are evacuated, although some prisoners die during the wider battle. Beef's risen hatchling survives an apparent death and returns in a stronger form. The Poison Fields operation has succeeded, leaving local recovery and government unresolved. In Sunara, Pit begins the Tempest trial rather than wait for Euphonia's leaders. He evades ancient storm wardens, gains help from elemental sprites, and reaches the calm center of the storm.

The Tempest recognizes Pit and grants him greater authority. At Halcyon Hold, he meets the Sylphan princess and her blind Corva guardian, whose visions support evacuation. A goddess immediately finds the refuge and corrupts Sunara's storm wardens. The guardian stays behind to delay the shadow beasts while Vessilia's fleet and Euphonia's defenders join the battle. Pit restores the damaged seal, claims authority over Sunara as Storm Tyrant, and helps the princess tear divine influence from the storm. Sunlight returns, but Imara appears and abducts the exhausted princess. Imara then attacks the survivors of the Poison Fields battle and takes Kevin and Shadow despite Archie's attempt to stop her. In Levantier, Felix survives with regenerated limbs and reaches Master Tier. Elowen wakes free of the oath network and explains the silver influence behind her work. Felix cannot destroy the Thonic Star, whose purpose is to find and break bindings. The devastated Violet Tower's mages are free, but the Star remains intact. Felix's armored sister then arrives, bringing the conflict with the goddess directly to him.

The goddess of fortune acts through Gabby, escapes with the Thonic Star, and turns nearby soldiers against Felix. He reopens her rift, drags much of the goddess into his reach, and drops the battle into Levantier's mana well when he cannot free the possessed soldiers. There a primordial remnant limits them both. Felix survives the flesh curse, completes several Grandmaster temperings, and receives the remnant's remaining dominion. He reclaims ancient oaths from the goddess, breaks her chains, evolves into a stronger primordial bloodline, and kills her. The silver moon vanishes, but the resulting experience is consumed by an unstable advancement that leaves Felix's level unreadable. He saves the falling city, then learns that Gabby covertly signaled her restored identity. At the Tower of True Faith, she has delivered the Thonic Star, the Sylphan princess, Kevin, and Shadow to the Hierophant while concealing her recovered will. The gods demand one final Unbound captive. Felix knows the captives' destination, but his transformation releases a cardinal beast from his shadow, forcing his allies to flee from the immediate danger.

Felix's three rescue missions break several parts of the Hierocracy's system without securing every Unbound. Harn's force destroys the Overlord and frees the Poison Fields prisoners, but Imara abducts Kevin and Shadow. Pit claims Sunara, ends its corrupted storm, and saves Euphonia, only for Imara to take the Sylphan princess. Felix destroys the Violet Tower's oath anchor, frees Elowen, and reaches Master Tier. In the mana well, he evolves his bloodline into a stronger primordial state before killing the goddess of fortune. Experience from her death is then consumed by an unstable advancement, leaving his displayed level in error and releasing a dangerous cardinal beast from his shadow. Gabby remains oath-constrained but has recovered her will and covertly signals Felix. She delivers the three captives and the Thonic Star to the Hierophant's Tower of True Faith, where the gods demand the last Unbound target. Felix's alliance knows where the captives were taken, but his unstable advancement is the immediate danger. The Ruin still approaches, the remaining gods remain active, and Felix must recover the prisoners, restore more true seals, and find the rest of the Empyrean Regalia.
