First Strike

By Craig Alanson

The third entry in the Convergence series finds wizard Kazimir Wolfe and his unlikely household, including a knight from ancient Egypt, a former dragon-fighting dog, and a jinn companion, on the run and trying to stay hidden after a very public battle draws unwanted attention. When a summoning meant to help a friend accidentally binds a young demon into a household vacuum cleaner, and a secretive family organization called the Order of the Temple of Solomon begins hunting Kazimir using magical detection tools, the group must relocate repeatedly while investigating strange, escalating rifts appearing across Ohio. As Kazimir searches for the source of the disturbances and confronts unresolved questions about his own origins and the mother he never knew, his allies work urgently to keep the household's secrets, and its more dangerous members, under control.
