Flockbound

By J.L. Mullins

The eleventh entry in the Millennial Mage series follows Tala and her partner Rain as they settle into open courtship and duty as Defenders, tasked with containing dangerous magical threats and mentoring Rain through his transition into a more active combat role. When a routine containment mission against a self-replicating magical fount spirals into a dangerous escalation, Tala and her unit must adapt their tactics on the fly, while Tala continues refining her own extraordinary magic, from iron-based spellwork to a newly conceived breath weapon, in pursuit of the next stage of her power. Balancing research, mentorship, and a budding community for magic-touched refugees within her mobile town, Tala works to define the deeper purpose behind her growing abilities as she edges toward a further advancement few mages ever reach.
