In short (whole book)

Remy dies protecting refugees on Earth and is remade as a god on Telos, where he chooses a threatened Pantherkin tribe and becomes Zero Fell. He saves them from monsters and rival worshippers, develops Soul powers, appoints three acolytes, and transforms a slain eagle bear from a bound enemy into a loyal spirit animal. After a dangerous migration, the tribe finds a ruined temple whose altar contains Asmodeus and four weakened gods. Fell drives Asmodeus into hell, claims the altar, awakens Rig, and founds Telos's first religious domain, winning resources and worldwide attention. The rival god Svaroth attacks with ogres before the settlement is ready. Minamoto Tametomo, summoned through Fell's reward, helps defeat the invaders and kill Svaroth's body, though Sharp Leaf and Autumn Ghost die. In the aftermath, Svaroth's soul escapes, the Divine Eagle Bear begins a path toward godhood, and fewer than two dozen Pantherkin remain. With a completed temple and new advantages, Fell commits to conquering Telos in order to save it.

Story so far - through chapter 10 (this book)

Earth's established order collapses when the Forsaking brings monsters and the Labyrinth interface. Remy, a former soldier and medical professional, leads refugees toward an army bunker while dying from a corrupted bite. He remains outside to cover the last survivors, orders his wounded sister to seal the doors, and is killed by shadow cats. His consciousness is diverted from death and examined by seven unknown entities, who conceal aspects of his nature and prepare him for godhood. In a preparation space, an ethereal facilitator explains that he has been seeded as a god on Telos. His growth will depend on followers, faith, and access to the wider Lattice, while his true name must never be spoken. Hidden sponsors give him cultivation methods and a compulsory quest connected to a ruined temple. During the choosing, he rejects poorly matched peoples and reaches beyond the normal limit to select a deeply compatible Pantherkin tribe. He arrives while an eagle bear is slaughtering them. Drawing the predator away, he climbs a giant tree in his weaker new body, only to discover that the enraged creature can follow him upward.

Story so far - through chapter 18 (this book)

Trapped high in the tree, Remy learns that his original name is bound and adopts Fell as a usable identity. He develops Soul Strike and Soul Heal, kills predatory simians, and captures their souls to add power charges and improve his balance. He also takes the Warrior class and begins advancing beyond level zero. The eagle bear remains far stronger, while dawn approaches and Fell must reunite with the Pantherkin to preserve their divine bond. He deliberately uses his title Infuriating Enemy to draw more simians into combat, harvesting experience and souls despite repeated wounds. His sponsors' earlier guidance helps him select Leap of Faith as a profound reward, making luck his defining attribute and granting Golden Sight and Tough Luck. When a large swarm converges near the top of the tree, a delayed sponsor message tells him to jump. Fell leaps while locked against the climbing eagle bear, turning the height and the monster's weight into his last chance to survive and reach his people.

Story so far - through chapter 24 (this book)

Fell survives the fall by using the eagle bear and the tree's branches to absorb the impact, then ends the mortally injured creature's suffering. Respect for the defeated enemy unlocks a prayer and raises its soul, which he binds for powerful night vision despite the continuing risk that it could resist him. He follows the Pantherkin, only to find merc dwarves attacking their camp. Fell kills the enemy acolyte, counters the acolyte's decay with Soul Heal, and forces the remaining raiders and their nearby deity to withdraw. At sunrise the tribe accepts him as Zero Fell. He treats the wounded, completes the rescue quest, and gains a new compulsory task to find them a viable home. Their unusually high resonance makes them his durable chosen people, and the faith bond advances his divine cultivation. Zero Fell appoints Sharp Leaf, Autumn Ghost, and Midnight Dust as acolytes, with Autumn Ghost serving as head acolyte. He then takes the three clergy away from the migrating tribe to find the dead eagle bear's cubs before its hostile soul can overcome his control.

Story so far - through chapter 31 (this book)

Zero Fell's expedition is nearly destroyed by a green-backed skink, but coordinated healing lets Sharp Leaf kill it and Autumn Ghost bind its soul. Unknown spiders follow the group to the eagle bear's hidden cave. Inside, Fell finds twelve cubs and fulfills their parent's final wish. Rather than keep the adult soul captive, he sacrifices his first cultivation advance to release it and empower every cub, transforming them into divine eagle bears. The adult spirit then becomes his willing spirit animal, restoring its visual gift and offering limited combat aid. Keeping this alliance now depends on founding a secure settlement for the cubs. An orb-weaver colony attacks under the direction of its god and sole reasoning acolyte. Fell uses the cubs' sonic stuns and the cave's confined space to break the assault, while his three clergy defeat the stronger spiders. The enemy acolyte escapes to report the loss. Her god postpones retaliation until its altar and forces are stronger, then kills the messenger for failing. Fell has gained powerful allies, but another divine rival now knows of him.

Story so far - through chapter 38 (this book)

The tribe gains a rare ability to tame defeated monster souls, while the divine eagle bear cubs and their parent consume captured soul energy to grow. Fell reunites with the caravan, which has begun building temporary defenses, but the journey remains lethal. Snakes, giant birds, poisonous food, and poor supplies steadily reduce the population. Fell preserves devotion by promising shared leadership rather than demanding obedience through fear. The quest route leads to the Great Bridge of Seraphia, a protected path through gray mist whose crossings can reach distant parts of Telos. The bridge shields the tribe from a hurricane and a sea colossus far beyond Fell's power. After several hungry days, the travelers emerge on the continent known as the home of the three kings. Discovery rewards strengthen the tribe and its clergy. Following the quest pull through the jungle, they finally reach a defensible coastal meadow with water and resources. At its center stands the ruined black-stone temple sought by Fell's sponsors, and he declares the meadow their home.

Story so far - through chapter 44 (this book)

Founding the settlement binds Fell to a territorial domain and permanently secures the Divine Eagle Bear alliance, but a new compulsory quest requires an altar. The ruined temple already contains one. When Fell touches it, he witnesses its history: Asmodeus, a tier-five duke of hell, used mass sacrifice and four captive gods to power a demonic gate. The gods and their followers spent their remaining strength to resist him. An elven goddess used a silver prison to bind Asmodeus, but his corruption trapped all five immortals inside the altar and destroyed the temple. Fell claims the altar and releases the weakened prisoners. The fish and minotaur gods secretly join Asmodeus in planning to kill Fell, while the elven goddess refuses to participate. Fell acts first when Asmodeus corrupts another former prisoner and opens a hell rift. He wounds the demon and forces him through the rift, though Asmodeus may survive. Fell then intimidates the remaining gods into leaving. The elven goddess warns that the altar's lost power and concealed secret will attract rivals. Fell retains the altar and turns to establishing his domain.

Story so far - through chapter 51 (this book)

Claiming the altar creates Fell's religious domain and awakens his God's Eye as a sentient adviser. He names it Rig. The altar was once grand but is now only basic, yet it expands faith capacity, strengthens Fell inside the domain, opens the Sea of Souls for new followers, and permits travel to a connected Lattice world. Settlement research can eventually unlock shrines, further altars, and practical development. Fell becomes the first god to establish a domain in several local zones, gaining additional territory, research and exploration advantages, and access to distant environments. A worldwide announcement identifies his continent as Telos's religious cradle and reveals that a prime relic is hidden there, broadcasting Fell's achievement to every immortal. His private rewards include a divine relic, one unrestricted soul acquisition, dimensional storage, temporary supplies, fame, faith, and gold. Rig helps him convert these windfalls into research for gathering, agriculture, fishing, mining, woodworking, construction, bows, and basic combat. The settlement begins shifting from desperate migration toward organized growth, but its fame and valuable altar make it increasingly visible to stronger enemies.

Story so far - through chapter 58 (this book)

Zero Fell spends faith on a palisade and plans to restore the ruined void-stone temple, but Svaroth enters the domain with ogre followers before the defenses are complete. The earth-aligned god had been pursuing the same sponsor-directed altar. Fell's earlier success caused Svaroth's quest to fail, and seizing the altar within a day offers him redemption. Fell claims his relic, the Cruel Grail, an indestructible dagger and chalice that causes bleeding and gathers bloodline material. He then uses his unrestricted Sea of Souls reward to summon Minamoto Tametomo, a fabled ranger and bonecrafter with a unique death-infused bow. Minamoto pledges service and assesses the approaching force. He offers to command the Pantherkin defenders while Fell and his clergy concentrate on Svaroth's divine power. Fell raises the ranger to level two, and Minamoto organizes the outnumbered tribe for the imminent assault as Svaroth declares his claim for the Shattered Curse Pantheon.

Story so far - through chapter 64 (this book)

Svaroth wounds Autumn Ghost nearly to death, and the ogre acolyte attacks Zero Fell's clergy under a stone defense. Sharp Leaf spends almost all his faith stabilizing Autumn Ghost, cripples the enemy acolyte's legs, and is killed when his weapons fail. Midnight Dust is knocked unconscious after the ogre threatens the wounded head acolyte, then witnesses Autumn Ghost's death. Zero uses Infuriating Enemy to draw the surviving ogres away from Midnight Dust and commits the Divine Eagle Bear and Tough Luck to the fight. He and the remaining defenders eliminate the ordinary ogres while the spirit animal mauls their acolyte. Minamoto returns with newly made death-infused arrows, wounds Svaroth, and blocks his escape. Midnight Dust kills the enemy acolyte and gives its soul to the Divine Eagle Bear. As Minamoto holds Svaroth's attention and cripples his knee, Zero approaches from behind, paralyzes him with the Cruel Grail, and kills his body. The relic completes a common ogre bloodline. The assault is over, but Svaroth's conscious divine soul remains on the battlefield, and the Pantherkin have paid for victory with severe losses.

How does it end? (ending)

The Pantherkin settlement survives Svaroth's assault, but fewer than two dozen people remain. Sharp Leaf and Autumn Ghost are dead. Midnight Dust, the sole survivor among Zero Fell's original acolytes, accepts Soul Scarred, losing the power to heal others while gaining far greater divine damage and concealed soul energy. Minamoto Tametomo survives as the settlement's military leader. Zero Fell and Minamoto kill Svaroth's body, but the diminished divine soul escapes after the Divine Eagle Bear drains part of its energy. That act begins the spirit animal's quest to consume three sources of divine power and form its own divine core. The completed void-stone temple, Rig, the altar, the Cruel Grail, and a stored ogre bloodline give the survivors a foundation for recovery. Their position remains precarious: an elite predator is nearby, Asmodeus may still live, several rival gods remain hostile, the prime relic is unfound, and the identities and price of Fell's sponsors are unresolved. Fell intends to turn the settlement into enough power to conquer and save Telos.
