Hunted

In the seventeenth Omega Force novel, Jason Burke and his crew take on what looks like a routine investigation into a string of precise, deliberate murders on a jungle world, only to find the killer is a reptilian, technologically equipped hunter capable of disabling a battle synth and infiltrating their own ship. As the attacks escalate and connections emerge to other places the crew has previously helped, it becomes clear that Omega Force itself is the real target of a campaign meant to wear them down before a final confrontation. Tracking the killer to a devastated outpost known as the Drift, Jason and Lucky must navigate an eerily emptied habitat and a hostage crisis involving the last surviving children, facing an enemy who has turned the outpost's own environmental systems into weapons.
