In Enemy Hands

By David Weber

The seventh Honor Harrington novel finds Honor newly promoted to commodore and readjusting to life on Grayson, including the founding of a treecat colony there, before being drawn into preparations for the powerful new Eighth Fleet under Earl White Haven's command. As tensions over Manticore's shrinking technological advantage sharpen debates about naval strategy, Honor takes command of an allied cruiser squadron still assembling its crew, all while managing an unspoken mutual attraction to her superior officer that both are determined not to act on. Across the war's other side, a capable Havenite officer works to reform a demoralized navy weighed down by political oversight and collective punishment, setting the stage for a rivalry defined as much by ideas as by fleets.
