After returning from a raid, Derek secures his captured dragonkin and learns to carry protected passengers through Void Travel. He and Silvi rescue Alana and Edgar, break an invasion, and help force Indaria into secret vassalage under Cydaria. The victors then campaign against the remaining enemy kingdom. Marrick kills its former king, Alana kills Queen Cassandra, and Derek kills the escaped Duke Terran. The surviving royal siblings are spared while Robert and Sabrina are selected to rule the conquered realm, which is renamed Indaria. Their wedding and crowning survive a coordinated poison attack: Alana protects a separate family gathering, Marrick contains the toxins, and Derek kills the House Illiel patriarch. Robert and Sabrina remain to govern and pursue investigations and social reforms. Derek returns to the Void Emporium, while safe Void Travel, dragonkin care, and Jacks's family case remain partly unresolved.

Previously: Jacks, a guard and trainer associated with Derek, was seeking the people responsible for the kidnapping and murder of his family. Gerald Torith died without revealing the entire chain behind those crimes, leaving Jacks's search unresolved.

Derek returns from a raid and finds Savannah secure and the Void Emporium operating under Malorie. Before joining the war, he arranges new work for Bones and Ogre and helps move his captive dragonkin to a remote clearing. Lyra mentally pacifies the lesser creatures, while the two wyverns require heavy physical restraints. Derek then tests Void Travel and discovers that an ordinary living creature cannot survive direct exposure, although Silvi travels beside him unharmed. His Void Sense locates Alana, Edgar, and Blitz across the border. Alana is using her Dawn Siren transformation to hold four enemy leaders while Edgar and Blitz harass their army from the air. Derek and Silvi emerge onto the battlefield and decide to break the army before aiding her. Derek's large spatial attack bypasses its defenses at severe mana cost, and Silvi's dragonfire finishes the rout. The rank-and-file formation scatters, but its leaders remain active, so Derek moves to reinforce Alana.

Derek joins Alana against the enemy commanders, wounds the Indarian duke, and captures him in Time Prison. Alana kills the opposing general, while Silvi kills the allied enemy king during his attempted escape. Derek and Alana capture the king's surviving brother, leaving the invasion's field command dead or imprisoned. Back in Cydaria, the royal family chooses coercive settlement over mass execution: Indaria is to remain under its own rulers but become a Cydarian vassal secured by soul contracts. Derek also solves a key limit of Void Travel. A complete shell of his Void Creation, or a sealed vessel made from it, can protect a living passenger, while unprotected entry remains fatal. Derek and Silvi use that method to carry Alana and Edgar directly into Indaria. With Sabrina and her maid Jessica under Alana's command, they infiltrate the palace and reach the throne room without a general alarm. Indaria's king recognizes his military defeat and accepts vassalage, restrictions on his royal family, and changes to discriminatory law in principle. Callum is summoned to turn the surrender terms into binding contracts.

Callum binds Indaria beneath Cydaria and restricts its royal heads and heirs, with the Cydarian crown prince holding the key that can release their power. The arrangement will be presented publicly as peace and alliance. Negotiations also expose abusive servant contracts. Derek requires Sabrina to release Jessica from her existing obligations, and the settlement begins moving toward paid, less exploitative service terms. A proposed cross-kingdom marriage remains unsettled after Derek refuses Sabrina's offer. The allied kingdoms then prepare to replace the leadership of their remaining enemy. The Cydarian crown prince bonds the amphitheer Volt, while Alana tames the restrained earth wyvern without bonding it. Avery, Lyra, Tara, and senior Cydarian and Indarian figures join the new campaign. Indaria's elder Marrick accompanies them because of a longstanding grievance against the opposing royal line. At the enemy capital, Traven and Queen Cassandra reject the approaching coalition. Marrick blocks Traven's surprise black-ice attack, and Cassandra commits the kingdom's strongest fighters and army to resistance. Derek and Silvi project their auras over the assembled opposition as a final deterrent before battle.

Derek and Silvi's combined pressure causes many enemy soldiers to collapse or flee, but the remaining rulers still order an attack. The confrontation divides into leadership duels while Derek and Silvi contain the army and try to limit deaths. They disable many fighters rather than killing them, although Derek kills those who ignore his warning and attempt to reinforce the nobles. Marrick reveals that the opposing royal family concealed killings connected to an attempt on his granddaughter. He overcomes Traven's ice transformation with dry, controlling sand and kills him. Alana isolates Cassandra to prevent her poison from spreading, then defeats and kills the queen. With both principal rulers dead, the army breaks and its survivors surrender or escape. Duke Terran then slips his restraints and attacks Tara. Lyra intercepts him, allowing Derek to pursue and kill the fleeing duke. The victors abandon the plan for a public execution and move instead to secure the undefended capital and establish a replacement government.

Marrick recovers the body of Raffi, the coalition's only confirmed casualty, for burial. Three major noble leaders led by Diana cooperate with the victors, open the capital, stand down its guards, restore local teleporters, and send healers to the battlefield. Finn delivers the two younger survivors of the former royal family. After the brother attacks Derek and is subdued, Alana questions both siblings. Their answers distinguish them from their cruel elder brother, and Alana opposes executing them for their parents' actions. They are spared under contracts and assigned to advise the incoming ruler. The Cydarian crown prince proposes Robert, a Cydarian relative, as king and Sabrina as his queen. The conquered kingdom is to be renamed Indaria, with its capital renamed as well. The new administration plans to investigate noble houses, release palace servants from existing contracts, set minimum employment terms, and abolish slavery. At the public announcement, the former royal siblings are presented as advisers, cooperating houses accept scrutiny, and a wedding is promised to install the new royal couple and mark cooperation among the three kingdoms.

Derek breaches the former royal treasury after its authorized users die, surviving its poison defenses and taking selected materials, potions, equipment, and skill scrolls. He then uses Void Travel to move senior leaders between kingdoms for a wedding planned within days. Sabrina and a Cydarian princess evade their scheduled meetings to visit the Void Emporium, but Derek retrieves Sabrina for the negotiations. Robert accepts the proposed political marriage after receiving assurances that he can continue training with access to the three kingdoms' resources. Sabrina also agrees, establishing them as the intended rulers. Silvi independently solves another transport problem: storage rings survive Void Travel when sealed inside several nested layers of void material. She returns to her kitchen to help cater the wedding. Derek rests in Savannah, learns skills taken from the treasury, and inspects the new dragonkin kennel. Its restraints and power-dampening runes hold, Lyra continues oversight, and Lindsay now manages the lesser creatures. With the political celebration approaching, Derek expects possible noble retaliation and keeps most of his household away from the event.

Robert and Sabrina enter their marriage contract and are crowned king and queen of the conquered realm, publicly renamed Indaria. Their alliance terms also bind Cydaria's crown prince and the former Indarian king to the planned governance changes. During the reception, the House Illiel patriarch launches a toxic attack at Sabrina, and Derek takes the strike while intercepting it. More conspirators release poison through the hall. Marrick kills several attackers and confines the airborne toxin with sand. Derek traps the patriarch behind a barrier, absorbs his emissions, and kills him with Spatial Collapse before his toxin form can detonate. Alana has already defeated conspirators targeting a separate gathering of vulnerable family members. The poison is cleared, the former royal siblings deny prior knowledge, and the celebration resumes. Robert and Sabrina remain in power while investigations into implicated noble houses continue. Silvi gives Derek a carefully tested cake that painfully improves his skills. Once the event ends, Derek returns by Void Travel to the Savannah operation and the Void Emporium.

Robert and Sabrina remain responsible for the new government, including noble-house investigations, servant-contract reform, and ending slavery. Derek, Alana, and Marrick are viewed as deterrents to renewed resistance. Derek returns to Savannah and the Void Emporium. Malorie's operation, the dragonkin kennel, the limits of protected Void Travel, Jacks's search for everyone responsible for his family's fate, and Derek and Alana's planned dungeon and void-beast work remain open.
