Ironbound

The eighth Millennial Mage novel finds Tala returning to human territory carrying a dangerous iron creature threaded through her body, and seeking a magical procedure to remove it. The attempted purge instead forces a permanent bond between Tala and the creature, granting her new iron-based powers alongside serious physical risks she does not yet understand. As she reunites with old friends and mentors and makes her way to the city of Banfast, Tala must explain her recent captivity among an enemy faction, undergo review by suspicious authorities, and begin the slow process of stabilizing a body that is deteriorating from the bond's side effects. Along the way, she reveals what she learned during her captivity and what she brought back from the arcane cities, drawing the attention of scholars, guild leaders, and political figures eager to study it.
