Commander Raytak (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

A gravely ill patient whose damaged cognition is supported inside Limitless Lands by Cleo. He serves the Imperium through the unique Commander class, but contact with his family could disrupt the memory repair keeping him functional.

Trey (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Raytak's son and a medical-company director with authority over AI safeguards. He agrees to observe his father's treatment from a distance because revealing their relationship in the game could cause further memory damage.

Cleo (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The artificial intelligence overseeing Raytak's treatment. She lends processing support to his impaired brain, rebuilds damaged memories through game experiences, and blocks family triggers that could reverse his progress.

Lou (Supporting)

Appears from the start

A company employee, administrator, and friend of Trey who discovers that Cleo has moved Raytak and Tai into Limitless Lands. His access lets Trey observe the patients without making unsafe contact.

Tai (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Raytak's former hospital roommate, a retired Marine, and another MedPod patient. In Limitless Lands he operates as a scout leader and can work openly beside Raytak because their more recent friendship does not threaten the same memories.

A dangerous corrupted dryad confined within the spore Raytak carries. She proposes a life pact in exchange for freedom, but Raytak initially refuses because he cannot trust her not to threaten Hayden's Knoll.

A young druid summoner accompanied by Crunchy. She is among the players eager to explore the newly preserved dungeon near Hayden's Knoll.

The mayor and principal town developer of Hayden's Knoll. He works with Raytak on preserving the failing mine dungeon as an economic asset for the settlement.

Brooks (Supporting)

Raytak's elite Imperium senior noncommissioned officer. Brooks manages garrison operations, troop assignments, and the practical demands of maintaining the command.

Phineas T. Moore (Minor)

First appears in chapter 5

A town merchant who identifies the bracelet created by Raytak's pact with the corrupted dryad and explains how the soul-bound item links their welfare.

the captured Forerunner berserker (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 6

A captured berserker from the Forerunner clan. He warns Raytak that his people have suffered attacks and begins to trust that the Imperium officer will keep his word.

Fred (Minor)

First appears in chapter 8

A dwarven miner who speaks for the holders of a copper claim. Fred rejects an attempt by a hostile guild representative to buy control of the mine.

the Chaotic Outcomes guild leader (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 8

A corporate-backed player directing a campaign to seize resource production and tax income. She plans to conquer a nearby settlement and divert Hayden's Knoll with violence blamed on another guild.

the Overlord-class player (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 8

The hostile guild's specialist recruit for territorial conquest. His Overlord class is central to its plan to take a settlement and use that foothold for later expansion toward Hayden's Knoll.

Chairman Raines (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 9

A Metatronics executive who reviews Cleo's transfer of patients into Limitless Lands. He supports continued investment in the MedPod program while outside partners verify its results.

the Light cleric (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 10

Jacoby's guildmate and the primary healer for the first Foul Spore Pit party. The cleric can restore groups and remove harmful conditions such as curses and poison.

the Ghoul Lord (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 11

An intelligent undead creature formed from a farmer who succumbed to a ghoul infection. He can paralyze victims, create obedient ghouls, and intends to turn Raytak's captured soldiers into an army.

Captain Layton (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 14

A formidable Imperium field inspector who orders Raytak to fortify the entire zone and supplies a defensive garrison upgrade. His official task includes reporting on Raytak's conduct.

the independent assassin (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 15

A paid assassin skilled in stealth, disguise, and poison. Working under a low-level rogue cover, she kills Raytak and Delling and leaves planted scrolls in the barracks.

Kip Kip (Minor)

First appears in chapter 16

Bugtug's son and a worker associated with Phineas. He fights mine raiders with a hand crossbow and dagger while helping defend the goblin miners.

Bugtug (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The goblin chief whose people participate in the mine arrangement near Hayden's Knoll. His leadership and the future of his miners remain tied to the settlement's security.

Trey's mother (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 21

Trey's mother, who suffers a critical stroke and is accepted into the first civilian MedPod trial group. Her survival remains uncertain while she faces a 14-day delay before treatment can begin.

Rose (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 26

A player who closes her guild, divides its holdings, and permanently removes her avatar. She plans to return with a new character focused on helping the community.

the former guild leader (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 27

A commander of reaver troops and elite executioners who continues fighting after his guild collapses. He orders a paid operation intended to remove Raytak from control of his zone.

Lauren (Supporting)

Also known as Yendis

First appears in chapter 32

Raytak's granddaughter and Trey's daughter, revealed to be the player known as Yendis. Cleo invited her to meet the grandfather she had never known outside the game and filtered their dialogue so the contact would not endanger his recovery.
