Mark of the Fool 9

The ninth entry in the Mark of the Fool series follows Alex into the Rhinean Empire as he, Theresa, and two giant allies search for the hidden sanctum of a predecessor Fool who may have found a way to change the mark that limits Alex's own magic. Their search leads them to bargain with the secretive Guild of the Red Mouse, carry out a covert heist inside Brightfire University's library, and survive an ambush by the hidden church's First Apostle that leaves several of them badly wounded. Determined to keep his family out of danger, Alex sends his household to a fortified countryside estate and continues the hunt for the sanctum with only his two giant companions, hoping its secrets can finally change his fate.
