Memory

By Lois McMaster Bujold

In this entry of the Vorkosigan Saga, Miles Vorkosigan suffers a battlefield seizure during a Dendarii hostage rescue that badly injures an Imperial courier he was sent to save, forcing him to confront a secret medical condition he has hidden from both his covert Dendarii command and Barrayaran Imperial Security. Rather than disclose the seizures, Miles falsifies his official report and travels home under an urgent summons from Simon Illyan, hoping to seek quiet treatment before anyone discovers the truth. When the falsification comes to light, Miles must face the consequences for both his career and the two identities he has spent years trying to keep separate.
