Appears from the start
Hal's increasingly distinct counterpart, with blue eyes and a voice unlike Hal's. He favors universal martial readiness, but shares Hal's underlying desire to protect vulnerable people and understands that their division threatens both of their visions.
Noth (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 3
Hal's partner and the settlement's principal organizer after the battle. Noth reports the disappearance of several senior allies, tends the wounded, and supports Hal as he accepts temporary responsibility for the survivors.
Ashera (Supporting)

A mature tree ant that willingly directs awakened tree ants in repairing the settlement.

A dwarf equipment specialist recently well enough to resume work after treatment from Noth. He provides Hal with rubies and explains useful principles of armor production.
koblin inventor (Supporting)

A koblin inventor working from the resistance base beneath the city district. She reports restoring a walking golem for the underground operation.
city operative's apprentice (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 112
A dagger-using apprentice under the city operative. The apprentice helps clear monster-infested tunnels but hesitates to press attacks as deeply as the operative advises.
poble companion (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 148
A small poble companion traveling with the missing group. The companion sponsors their refuge at an extradimensional resort while they remain stranded away from Aldim.
