Never Say Die characters

By Anthony Horowitz

Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.

Alex Rider (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

Fifteen, living in San Francisco with the Pleasures and going to an American school, which is what everyone agreed would be best for him. He is withdrawn and going through the motions, because the thing he came here to get away from is not the spying but Jack's death, and being somewhere else has not helped. He has no intention of working for anybody's intelligence service again.

Sabina Pleasure (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Alex's closest friend, who has known what he really is for years and whose family have taken him in. She watches him grieving and getting no better, and she is one of the few people he will listen to.

Edward Pleasure (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Sabina's father, the investigative journalist who has known Alex since France. He and his wife have given Alex a home in California and are trying, without much success, to give him an ordinary adolescence.

Jack Starbright (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 4

The American housekeeper who raised Alex from the age of eight and was killed in front of him in the Egyptian desert. Alex watched the jeep destroyed and has spent every day since living with it, which is why a piece of new information about that day is the one thing capable of moving him.
