The fifth entry in the Ultimate Level 1 series continues Max's party as they climb deeper into the tower, clearing an unusually dangerous nineteenth-floor boss and narrowly escaping a swarm-filled twentieth floor without clearing it, while still concealing the true extent of Max's abilities from almost everyone around them. Outside the tower, the party is called on to help contain a manticore dungeon break threatening the city, and Max quietly forms an uneasy truce with the mysterious inner presence that has long unsettled him. When a faction member named Dexic is ambushed by hostile elves during a separate tower expedition, Max commits to standing beside her in the formal duel that follows, even as his careful secrecy becomes harder to maintain.
