Night School

The 21st Jack Reacher novel. Reacher is summoned to a covert interagency unit whose supposed training course turns out to be cover for investigating a mysterious hundred-million-dollar transaction. In Hamburg, a courier from a jihadist sleeper cell relays an unidentified American's asking price, and the seller's identity and what is being sold become the unit's central mystery, with a CIA double agent inside the cell limiting how openly the team can act. Working alongside his former sergeant Neagley and FBI and CIA support, Reacher chases leads through bars, a technology convention, and financial records, ruling out suspects until an eyewitness account and a police sketch finally narrow the search.
