Silas Renner enters the Wild Hunt with Erg and joins Asta and Jiang in a tense alliance with Anika and Nuri against Morvarg. Their campaign on Veil draws them into the Lepun struggle with the Conti Collective and into the Flame Den, where they free bound souls, exploit years of time-dilated training, and defeat the Wild Hunt incarnation of the chained devil prince Yeodirrath. Silas accepts a dangerous devil-derived evolution. Nuri breaks the human oath and dies, Mr. Chompems is killed, and Silas and Erg destroy Morvarg after a struggle involving life, order, chaos, and Veil itself. Anika later dies after transferring her successor right to Silas. The group survives the Huntsman's final pursuit with Samuel Rayden's intervention, and Asta's voluntary subordination gives Earth victory. Silas evacuates 986,312 Lepun before Veil disintegrates, only to learn that Earth is a contested-sector dungeon world nearing induction. He and Erg destroy an invasion at Normandy, communication restrictions end, and Silas accepts an open leadership role in the coming war.

Previously: Silas Renner became a veteran Earth Forerunner and formed a voluntary bond with the Eidolon Erg. His inducted sister, Cecilia Renner, was changing under mana, and he worked to prepare her for the dangers surrounding Earth. Krulak became a conditional ally within the planet's emerging defense network. These relationships leave Silas entering the next crisis with personal obligations to his family and a growing place in Earth's defense.

The Wild Hunt places Earth's five Forerunners in a huge constructed arena and offers victory through eliminating or subordinating their rivals, defeating the Huntsman, or consuming a special prey. Silas begins with Erg and quickly encounters Anika, who proposes a temporary human truce against Morvarg. He finds Asta, learns that Emil's alterations made her Homo pragmaticum, and reunites with Jiang, a mass producer. Asta tames a rare raptor later named Mr. Chompems. The Huntsman awakens early and grows stronger when the competitors fail to kill one another. Silas's group then meets Vex and the Lepun of Veil, whose sacred groves are being destroyed by the artificial Conti Collective. Silas accepts a binding alliance that commits the humans and Lepun to mutual protection and opposition to the Conti presence. Lepun scouts guide the group to a Conti outpost, where Silas must choose between testing the constructs and resuming the search for rival Forerunners. Morvarg makes the Hunt's first Forerunner kill, confirming that the most dangerous rival is already active while the human alliance remains incomplete and distrustful.

All five human Forerunners swear not to harm one another or deny needed support until Morvarg dies, but the oath does not resolve their hostility. A spore attack exploits a loophole and compels Jiang and Nuri to attack allies. Silas cures both without killing them, restoring the group. Two elf Forerunners later ambush Silas and Erg and are killed, giving Earth valuable rewards while provoking an argument over who deserves the gains. Anika and Nuri continue unexplained private activity, deepening Silas's suspicions. Silas builds a clockwork drone, Jiang reproduces it, and their linked reconnaissance network greatly expands Silas's ability to map and identify distant targets. The network locates Daina, an injured and cursed elf Forerunner about fifty miles away. Earth has climbed to third place in world points. As the Hunt's first three days end, a system warning announces dire consequences for failure and introduces a new mandatory threat.

Morvarg attacks plant-world Forerunners near the volcanic region, kills one, and consumes the victim's soul. Silas's group wounds him, but he escapes, and the two rescued Forerunners turn on their rescuers and die. A separate quest identifies Morvarg as a Soul-Reaper and requires Silas to kill him before the Wild Hunt ends. Jiang offers to subordinate himself to Silas if they defeat Morvarg and protect Earth. Inside the Flame Den, the party discovers burned Lepun souls forced into fiery bodies. Silas uses spirit singing to break their chains and free them, gaining a title tied to liberating bound souls. He then evolves his support and healing magic. The dungeon's accelerating time allows the group to train for more than two subjective years while little outside time passes. Silas and Jiang become genuine friends, while Silas and Asta acknowledge mutual attraction but defer a relationship. Asta develops her alchemy, and the party emerges from training much stronger with about eighteen hours left to find the Flame Jackal.

The party defeats a vast volcanic hornet nest, and Asta keeps frozen eggs for a possible future swarm. Battles with hell-mana-infected creatures leave Silas with an incomplete evolution and equipment that increases his connection to dangerous outside power. At the center of the dungeon, the supposed Flame Jackal identifies himself as Yeodirrath and rejects the event's name as a mark of enslavement. He is a bound devil prince and prisoner of war rather than a simple beast. Silas removes two of his restraints but refuses to free him completely. Yeodirrath begins the hunt at a much higher level and chases Silas across Veil. Vex and willing Lepun dead help delay him long enough for the group to reunite. In the final battle, Yeodirrath forces Silas into a struggle over his soul and life essence. Asta and Erg destroy the devil's physical incarnation, ending the event, while Silas saves the critically wounded Jiang. The victory does not establish Yeodirrath's permanent destruction. His blood completes Silas's devil evolution and leaves Silas with 24 hours to accept it or cleanse it.

Silas accepts the aberrant devil evolution, gaining new abilities and a probationary connection to another system. Jiang completes a rare evolution and voluntarily subordinates himself to Silas under reasonable Forerunner commitments. Asta reveals a controlled volcanic hornet swarm. The group then finds Nuri mortally cursed by Morvarg. She attacks Silas and breaks the human oath, allowing Jiang to kill her. The surviving factions converge on Daina and the remaining elf, both of whom die after Silas's team ensures shared rewards. Morvarg arrives wielding an oblivion-like force connected to the remnants of his people. He kills Mr. Chompems and overwhelms the combined attacks of Silas, Asta, Jiang, Erg, and Anika. With aid from Veil and the Lepun, Silas drives life mana into Morvarg's void and is drawn into chaotic space. Order and chaos join life in the struggle, while Erg's bond gives Silas the final connection needed to fill the emptiness. Morvarg and his people are eliminated. Silas returns to Veil after 59 days with new affinities and the title System Intermediary, finding Asta and Jiang far away and Anika marked as hostile.

Silas reunites with Asta and Jiang after his long absence, only to expose their refuge to the Huntsman's hounds. He and Asta's hornet swarm destroy all twelve manifestations, though they will reform. Silas then reaches Anika, who has immobilized Asta and Jiang. Before dying, Anika transfers to Silas the right to choose her successor and identifies the intended replacement for Nuri. Asta and Jiang kill her after she releases them, and Silas accepts responsibility for protecting her children. Rather than end the Hunt immediately through Asta's subordination, the group returns to Vex. They learn that Veil is an artificial fusion of several worlds and that its limits prevent the Lepun from advancing. Silas offers the remaining Lepun asylum on Earth in exchange for long-term nonaggression, cooperation in Earth's defense, and a sacred root for study. The agreement is sworn. The allies destroy the final Conti compounds and recover sacred roots, but the Huntsman confronts Silas and imposes a last test: Silas, Asta, and Jiang must survive as his prey for one full day.

Silas, Asta, and Jiang flee through a landscape controlled by the Huntsman, then ambush and briefly destroy his body. He simply recreates his manifestation, disables Silas, and tears apart Erg's manifested form. Silas summons Samuel Rayden, whose intervention lets the group escape even after the Hunt raises the Huntsman to match the legendary clan leader. Samuel survives through an escape token, and the group completes the 24-hour condition. The Huntsman tells Silas that the struggle freed him from Veil, rewards him, and departs. Veil will now disintegrate. With little time left, Asta voluntarily accepts limited subordination to Silas, completing a victory condition and winning the Wild Hunt for Earth. Silas honors his compact with Vex by transporting 986,312 Lepun to Earth, where their mana disables nearby technology. Earth earned the most points but is an ineligible contested-sector dungeon world with six incursion slots and fewer than 34 days before induction. Silas races to Normandy, joins Cecilia Renner, Asta, Jiang, and human defenders, and destroys an invading force with Erg. Communication restrictions then end as open war approaches, and Silas commits to leading Earth's defense.

Earth wins the Wild Hunt after Asta voluntarily accepts limited subordination to Silas, following the deaths of Nuri and Anika and the destruction of Morvarg. The Huntsman is freed from Veil, and the artificial world is set to disintegrate. Samuel Rayden survives his clash with the Huntsman by using an escape token. Silas fulfills his agreement with Vex by transporting 986,312 Lepun to Earth and granting them asylum and native status. Their arrival produces a widening high-mana region that disables nearby technology. Earth earned the most points in the event but cannot receive normal induction because it is a contested-sector dungeon world with six incursion slots. Fewer than 34 days remain before induction, while monster attacks and evacuations are already widespread. Cecilia Renner, Asta, Jiang, and human forces defend Normandy, where Silas and Erg destroy an invading force. The communication ban then falls, and Silas commits to leading Earth's response to the approaching war. Anika's children and successor remain his responsibility, the Lepun must be integrated, Yeodirrath's permanent fate is unknown, and Silas and Asta leave their personal relationship undefined.
