Jack Rust seeks enough power and political backing to save Earth from the Animal Kingdom. Exploding Sun conditionally supports him, but a political wager and Dordok's imprisonment lead Jack and his former mentor to infiltrate Hell. Jack frees Dordok, joins the Black Hole Church, survives a public duel sequence, and kills Maximus Lonihor before escaping home. On Earth, the Alliance fights Ice Peak while Brock, Gan Salin, Nauja, Edgar, and Vivi win separate battles. Brock reaches D-grade and kills Alexander Petrovic. Jack reaches peak D-grade, defeats Galicia Lonahor on the Moon, and secures Earth's immediate independence. Jonas Evergreen then moves Earth and the Moon outside system space. Jack survives as Earth's defender, learns Vivi is pregnant, and faces continuing threats from the Animal Kingdom, Hand of God, and a wider ancient conflict.

Previously: Jack Rust emerged from Trial Planet as a newly D-grade immortal with an exceptional foundation, a powerful fist class, and a concealed life drop inherited during the trial. He leads the Bare Fist Brotherhood and is bound to Brock, his brorilla spiritual companion. Their actions made Jack an enemy of the Animal Kingdom, whose mid-C-grade overseer Galicia Lonahor threatens Earth-387 once its grace period expires. Earth is also divided internally. Margaret Rust directs the Brotherhood, Vivi Aragon and Flame River stand with it, and Alexander Petrovic leads the rival Ice Peak. Jack cannot safely return home without risking early intervention, so he and Brock travel toward Exploding Sun to seek protection strong enough to preserve the entire planet.

Jack and Brock cross Animal Kingdom territory under concealment while travelling toward Exploding Sun. On Darien, Jack discovers prisoners held by Animal Kingdom wardens and recognizes an Earth ally among them. He abandons his teleporter slot, attacks the camp, and defeats its D-grade leadership as well as a C-grade bounty hunter. Brock frees and organizes the prisoners. Jack releases the anti-kingdom revolutionaries, gives the Earth ally transport and funds, and learns that Earth remains split between the Brotherhood-Flame River alliance and Ice Peak. Returning home as an immortal could end the planet's grace period, so Jack continues seeking outside support. He and Brock finally reach Field Nebula, the Exploding Sun capital.

At Field Nebula, Jack reunites with his former mentor, now an Exploding Sun deacon, and meets Master Huali, a C-grade elder. Jack offers full allegiance if the faction will protect all of Earth-387 rather than only his own people. Huali tests the value of his rapid advancement and extraordinary foundation. Jack also reveals privately that he conquered Trial Planet's ninth ring, though he continues hiding the life drop and the tribulation connected to it. Huali accepts him as a personal disciple, admits Brock as an outer disciple, and promises to oversee an attempt to take Earth from Animal Kingdom control when the grace period ends. The commitment depends on Jack remaining alive and valuable and on the faction avoiding unacceptable danger. The Bare Fist Brotherhood consequently becomes subordinate to Exploding Sun. On Earth, Vivi reaches E-grade and seeks limits on the use of E-grade power in the coming factional conflict.

Jack trains at Huali's estate with a Dao magnet and regular spars, and he selects a spatial Dao vision for later study. He earns respect by drawing against a much more experienced disciple, while Brock moves to the outer planet to train beside Gan Salin and Nauja. Brock's strength increasingly responds to protecting and organizing companions. Huali's contest with a rival elder for the Grand Elder position makes Jack politically visible. A rival disciple provokes Jack into a public exchange of full-force blows, and Jack survives the first strike before killing his opponent with his return attack. The victory helps Huali but increases the risk of escalation. Jack then learns what happened to the Trampling Ram after it aided his escape: most of the crew got away, but Captain Dordok was captured and sent to the Animal Kingdom prison planet Hell. Jack accepts responsibility for the danger they faced and resolves to rescue Dordok and help the missing crew.

Jack deepens his understanding of space and improves his teleportation, but the succession conflict becomes more dangerous. The rival elder exposes Huali's promise to protect Earth and demands that Jack face a peak D-grade disciple. Jack negotiates a six-month delay and stakes both his place in Exploding Sun and the promised aid for Earth on surviving three strikes. With ordinary cultivation too slow, he proposes infiltrating Hell to fight Animal Kingdom disciples and free Dordok. Huali helps him study a supernova, while the library supplies a cultivation aid, an escape talisman, and a concealed early C-grade attack. Jack's former mentor agrees to accompany him. To shield Exploding Sun from responsibility, both men formally leave the faction before an Animal Kingdom contact smuggles them through the Eternal Gate in warded cargo. They arrive on Hell as unaffiliated infiltrators, with no settled escape route.

Jack begins hunting Animal Kingdom parties in Hell while his former mentor searches for Dordok. He kills large numbers of inner disciples and advances rapidly, but the prison world's warden recognizes that an infiltrator is operating across several zones. During meditation, Jack discovers that his concealed life drop has become linked to a life Dao root and the growth of his Dao tree. A door-like outline is forming in the tree's bark, and Jack's Dao soul can now act with limited independence. When the soul touches the life drop, uncontrolled life energy forces Jack into his four-armed form. Jack expels the excess power, but the resulting beacon reveals his location. Animal Kingdom cultivators converge, turning his hidden campaign into an immediate pursuit while the nature of the life drop and the door remain unexplained.

Jack defeats the force drawn by the beacon, including its Leonine leader, but three peak D-grade deacons pursue him. His escape talisman fails to hide him. Captured and tortured, Jack waits until all three are close before using the single early C-grade attack stored for him. The blast kills two deacons, leaves the third's fate uncertain, and nearly kills Jack. His former mentor rescues him, but Jack refuses to leave without Dordok. They find the Cyclops controlled by the warden's mark in a late D-grade hunting zone. Jack and his mentor defeat the controlling group, restore Dordok's awareness, and burn the mark from his soul. The rescue succeeds, but their planned departure is blocked when an unnamed level-249 Leonine Grade Defier arrives to confront the exhausted group.

Maximus controls the fight against Jack, Dordok, and Jack's former mentor until a mysterious Sage intervenes and extracts them to an underwater refuge. The Sage identifies himself with the Black Hole Church and reveals that Hand of God has compromised their intended escape. While the group hides from a B-grade search, he presents the Church's disputed account of ancient history. In that version, ancient humanity created sentient steel immortals as protectors, but the immortals turned on their creators, built the System to produce elite fighters, and rewrote the history of the war. The Church worships the imprisoned god of life and blames the god of entropy for manipulating the conflict. Jack sees an ancient vision linking Trial Planet, Brock's staff, and his former spiritual mentor to that lost war. He does not yet accept the Church's invitation, and the account remains a claim rather than established truth.

After three months in hiding, Jack has consolidated his rapidly gained power. When the B-grade searcher leaves Hell, the group resumes targeted raids using the Sage's divination and spatial extraction. Jack, Dordok, and the former Exploding Sun deacon destroy increasingly strong patrols while their recordings turn the Animal Kingdom's failure into a galaxy-wide scandal. The humiliation drives Hell's warden to request seven C-grade enforcers and brings scrutiny upon Galicia Lonahor because Jack came from Earth. The Sage commits the Black Hole Church to helping protect Earth. On that assurance, Jack joins the Church.

Jack's raids raise him to level 230, but Earth has only two weeks left. A rival Exploding Sun disciple provides Jack's former mentor's lifeblood to the Animal Kingdom, exposing the group's refuge. Hundreds of pursuers converge before the Sage's escape device can recharge. Jack's allies are defeated in separate fights, and Hell's warden stops Jack's final stand. With the group captured and no immediate rescue available, Jack uses the continuing public broadcast to demand a contest for everyone's freedom. The warden accepts under reputational pressure. Jack must first fight the warden's top disciple and then Maximus Lonihor.

Jack kills the warden's top disciple, then faces Maximus before a galaxy-wide audience. Maximus combines superior technique with a Leonine battle form, but Jack's foundation, titles, Dao roots, regeneration, and spatial skill let him overcome the level gap. Jack kills Maximus, reaches level 233, and publicly reveals his Ninth Ring Conqueror title. The warden honors the release agreement because breaking it on the broadcast would deepen the Animal Kingdom's humiliation. Jack, the Sage, Dordok, and Jack's former mentor escape in the Bromobile. Pursuers follow, but the Black Hole Church opens a costly long-range gate and escorts them through before a B-grade can catch them. The group reaches Earth's Solar System. The Animal Kingdom removes the warden and its ancestor takes charge of hunting Jack. Meanwhile, the Church arranges the secret return of Brock, Gan Salin, and Nauja for the war six days away.

Alexander Petrovic attacks Harambe in an E-grade dungeon, kills three brorillas, and leaves Brock's father gravely injured. Brock returns secretly but delays revenge to preserve the Alliance's plan. At the Grace Concert, the Brotherhood and Flame River launch their attack against Ice Peak before the planetary grace period expires. Margaret Rust coordinates the allied army while Vivi fights Alexander. Edgar and Gan Salin face powerful individual opponents, with Nauja initially held in reserve. A devil-bound Sephira woman isolates Edgar, and Alexander discovers that Vivi is pregnant with Jack's child. He uses her need to protect the baby to defeat her and prepares to kill her publicly. Brock intervenes, saves Vivi, and confronts Alexander on behalf of both Vivi and the injured brorillas. Jack has not yet appeared, and the wider ground battle remains precariously balanced.

Jack returns publicly and challenges Galicia Lonahor to fight him alone above Earth while the Alliance continues its war below. Gan Salin protects Nauja long enough for her to perfect her advancing arrow and defeat two enemy scions. Edgar abandons the devil's combat alteration, restores his original Dao, and frees the Sephira woman from the darkness controlling her. Their broken contracts destroy the devil, and the Sage revives the mortally wounded Edgar, though neither Edgar nor the woman can advance further. Offworld reinforcements expand the battle until the Bro Army and Dordok's crew arrive. Brock and Alexander both break through to D-grade. Brock's Bro Code lets him draw strength through his bonds, overcome Alexander's true ice, and execute him. Margaret traps the advancing Ice Peak army, and Ice Peak surrenders. The Alliance controls the ground battle, leaving Jack's confrontation with Galicia as the last unresolved major fight.

Jack clears a D-grade dungeon and reaches peak D-grade before confronting Galicia. His matured Dao tree opens onto an unknown expanse, but a vast turtle-like being immediately expels him, leaving the doorway unexplained. Jack also finds Sparman critically damaged after defending the Forest of the Strong and leaves the robot to conserve energy. In the broadcast duel, Jack exposes the life drop and declares Earth independent, causing the System to flag him for Hand of God containment. Galicia, revealed as Maximus's mother, repeatedly destroys Jack's body while his regeneration restores it. On the Moon, Jack converts his unfinished supernova insight into a stronger version of his signature fist technique and kills her. Jonas Evergreen prevents the Animal Kingdom and Hand of God fleets from intervening. Afterward, he moves Earth and the Moon outside system space. Brock, Margaret, Vivi, Gan Salin, Nauja, Edgar, Dordok, and the Sephira survivor remain alive. Vivi tells Jack she is carrying his child. Earth is hidden but not unreachable, and the wider conflict remains open.

The Alliance defeats Ice Peak, Brock kills Alexander Petrovic, and Jack kills Galicia Lonahor on the Moon after reaching peak D-grade. Jonas Evergreen prevents the hostile fleets from interfering, then moves Earth and the Moon beyond system space. Jack survives, Vivi reveals that she is carrying his child, and Brock, Margaret Rust, Gan Salin, Nauja, Edgar, Dordok, and the recovering Sephira woman remain on the relocated world. Edgar cannot advance because his soul is cracked, but plans a wizard academy while Jack seeks a cure. Sparman remains critically damaged. The Animal Kingdom, Hand of God, former Hell warden, and Animal Kingdom ancestor remain threats. The Black Hole Church's disputed history, Jack's life drop and Dao-tree doorway, Brock's staff, and the approaching conflict involving immortals and old gods remain unresolved.
