Savage Dominion

By Luke Chmilenko, G.D. Penman

An unathletic gamer dies protecting his date from an oversized wolf, then wakes as a ghost before the gods of the Solar Court, who offer resurrection as an immortal Eternal in the ruined world of Amaranth. The Solar Court rejects him as unworthy despite his choosing the powerful Shagnar Fawn form, so the rival Lunar Court claims him instead, rebirthing him as Malkin, a horned Shagnar Fawn bound to a wolf god of death and solitude. A scheming prophet strands him underground with several newly formed Solar-born companions, two of whom die in a power struggle before Malkin, a former diving instructor named Mercy, and a serpent-temple servant named Asher escape together and take up the prophet's abandoned mission: recovering the scattered shards of a weapon said to be the one blade ever to wound a god, a search that leads them toward the besieged Dvergar city of Cogmore to offer aid against its enemies.
