Sky World

By B. V. Larson

The eighteenth Undying Mercenaries novel opens when James McGill's daughter Etta discovers a buried, high-security bunker on the family's land - a discovery that draws deadly attention once McGill's own inquiries into it are traced by Earth's internal security, costing him a formal execution and an unexplained early revival. He is released just as a Rigelian diplomatic delegation arrives requesting his presence and warning Earth against activating Big Sky, a new planetary defense shield network. When Earth proceeds with the shield's first test despite the warning, the activation ends in catastrophe, and McGill's unit mobilizes for what looks like the opening of a far larger conflict.
