Storm World

By B. V. Larson

The tenth Undying Mercenaries novel opens with James McGill covering for his daughter Etta after she took payment from Claver by handing him a substitute in place of a dangerous book, then fled to Dust World with the money - only to find that the real book, which he thought was safely hidden, has vanished as well. Chasing the truth to Dust World, where an outlawed process can secretly revive the dead, McGill recovers the real book from Etta just as a newly revived enemy destroys it and kills him in the same encounter. While his superiors search for a way to reconstruct its contents from a witness's memory, Legion Varus is called up for an early, unexplained deployment to Storm World to intervene against the plant-like Wur on behalf of a besieged frontier population.
