A red-haired mortal girl Percy meets at high school orientation. Unlike most humans, she can see through the Mist that hides monsters and magic from ordinary people, which lets her perceive danger, and demigods, clearly. Bold and artistic, she becomes an unexpected help to Percy when he needs a guide who can navigate by sight where magic misleads.

A demigod daughter of Athena and Percy's closest friend, a gifted planner and fighter with a lifelong fascination for architecture and for the legendary inventor Daedalus. She is given her first chance to lead a quest of her own, into the Labyrinth, and feels the strain of command and of old, unresolved feelings about Luke.

A satyr and Percy's devoted friend, under pressure from the Council of Cloven Elders to find the lost wild god Pan or lose his searcher's license. He joins the quest into the maze, still driven by his hope of finding Pan and carrying the burden of a promise he must keep.

A young Cyclops and Percy's half-brother, son of Poseidon, who has been working in the undersea forges. Gentle, immensely strong, and skilled with metal and machines, he rejoins Percy for the quest and forms a special bond with an ancient hundred-handed creature they encounter in the maze.

A son of Hades, grown solitary and grim since his sister Bianca's death, which he blames on Percy. Able to summon and command the dead, he is shadowed by a scheming ghost who urges him toward revenge and toward a bargain to bring his sister back. Powerful and unpredictable, he moves through the Underworld and the maze on his own errands.

The god of fire, forges, and craftsmanship, who makes his workshops in volcanoes and builds mechanical wonders. Gruff and wary of being used, he agrees to help the questers only if Percy first investigates who has been intruding on one of his forges, sending Percy toward a dangerous confrontation beneath a mountain.

An immortal nymph, daughter of a Titan, exiled to the hidden island of Ogygia and cursed to be found only rarely by a hero she cannot keep. Gentle and lonely, she nurses Percy back to health after he is gravely hurt and grows fond of him, offering a peaceful life on the island that he must decide whether to accept.

The legendary inventor who built the Labyrinth in ancient times and has kept himself alive across the ages by transferring his mind into a series of automaton bodies. He has recently been living at the demigod camp disguised as a new sword instructor named Quintus. Brilliant and burdened by old guilt, he holds the secret to controlling the maze that both sides now seek.

The ancient god of the wild, lost for millennia and sought by generations of satyrs, including Grover. Found at last deep within the maze, he is fading as the wild places of the world dwindle. Weary and at peace, he entrusts his work to those who find him, asking them to carry his spirit forward as the old order passes.

A demigod son of Hermes who leads the Titan lord's army against the gods. He seeks the means to master the Labyrinth so his forces can invade the demigod camp from within. Ruthless and determined, he is preparing for the final rise of his master, and remains a painful figure to Annabeth, who once trusted him.

The ancient Titan lord, nearly fully re-formed from his scattered remains and hungry to overthrow the gods who cast him down. His growing power drives the enemy's assault on the demigods, and his return draws steadily closer as his followers prepare the way for him to take physical form.
