The priest of Calla Bryn Sturgis, the farming town the ka-tet comes to. A former Catholic priest from another world's version of America, he fled his old parish after a supernatural evil overwhelmed it and wandered between worlds before settling here. Haunted and hard-drinking but brave, he keeps a dangerous object hidden and becomes an ally to Roland's cause.

A young farmer of Calla Bryn Sturgis who dares to speak against the town's long submission to the Wolves, raiders who come each generation to steal children. Frightened but determined, he rallies his neighbors to seek help from the passing gunslingers.
