Longing above all else to be a mother, she has struck a bargain with dark powers and will let nothing stop her from reaching the place where the child is to be born.

A writer living in Maine in the late 1970s whom Roland and Eddie seek out in their old world. To their astonishment he appears to be the author through whom the tale of their quest is being told, which makes his survival and continued work strangely bound up with the fate of the Tower.
