Ruwen Starfield (Protagonist)

Big D (Supporting)

Also known as Grand Pit Boss Dern

Appears from the start

The local leader who kept Midpoint and the surrounding lands functioning under severe strain while Ruwen was absent.

Rami (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Ruwen's mind-linked companion, who remains inside his mental world and advises him during his return to Eiru. She can read memory and emotion, and she urges him to investigate people carefully instead of letting fear or guilt dictate his response.

Overlord (Supporting)

Appears from the start

An independent construct who remains within Ruwen's mental world beside Uru's fragment.

The goddess whose territory Ruwen returns to govern. In Midpoint, he finds visible resentment toward her and the regional administration.

Uru's divine shard (Supporting)

The bard (Antagonist)

An opposing organizer whose ambush team tries to force Ruwen to swear allegiance. He is described as a merchant-crafter bard whose specialized voice can influence emotion and weaponize sound.

First appears in chapter 5

The void-band user who directs the twelve-person team sent to ambush Ruwen on his route to Eiru.

Hamma (Supporting)

First appears in chapter 8

Ruwen's partner, a chapel priestess and healer. Reunited with him after a long separation, she recognizes both his physical injury and the grief he carries from Savage Island, helping him remember the fallen as people rather than only as losses.

Fractal (Supporting)

A sentient researcher whose lair serves as Ruwen's base while he prepares a controlled mana experiment. Fractal's home and work provide a secure setting for testing abilities that Ruwen can no longer power safely with spirit.

Ruwen's hostile Black Steed of the Apocalypse. Bound to famine rather than to Ruwen, Vex understands commands but deliberately harms its summoner before being dismissed.

Nameless (Antagonist)

A destructive, nihilistic construct living in Ruwen's inner world. Nameless challenges its society's faith and demands the freedom to leave for the infernal lord, forcing Ruwen to weigh a promise of free choice against the safety of everyone in his mind.

Tora (Minor)

First appears in chapter 22

A Deepwell worker who holds the ceremonial Baby Band title. Tora formally transfers the title to Ruwen, binding him to the worker community's demanding initiation traditions.
