The Iron Queen characters

Oberon's half-human daughter, banished from the Nevernever and living rough in the mortal world with Ash. She has stopped being able to pretend she is an ordinary girl: she carries Summer glamour and can also touch iron glamour, the power lethal to every other fey, which is precisely why the courts threw her out. She wants to get home and see her family before she decides what her life is now.

The youngest son of Mab, cast out of the Winter Court for choosing Meghan over his queen and his family. He travels the mortal world with her, guards her without being asked, and treats exile as the price of a decision he has no intention of regretting.

The trickster who guarded Meghan for years disguised as a schoolboy and has fought beside her ever since. He serves Oberon, jokes through anything lethal, is in love with Meghan and has never made a claim on it, and his long feud with Ash remains unsettled.

The cait sith who has guided Meghan through every crisis so far, on credit. He talks, vanishes at will, knows far more than he admits, and collects the favours he is owed at moments of his own choosing.

Meghan's young half brother, living in Louisiana with their mother and stepfather. He was stolen by the Iron fey once already and got back a sister who then vanished out of his life for months at a time.

The Erlking, ruler of the Summer Court and Meghan's father, who banished her from the Nevernever after she used iron glamour in front of both courts. He calls it protection; it is also a court removing a danger it cannot control.

Queen of the Winter Court, who exiled her own youngest son for choosing Oberon's daughter over Tir Na Nog. She has lost a son to the Iron fey, another to treachery and a third to Meghan, and she has forgiven none of it.

Queen of the Summer Court, Oberon's wife, who has wanted Meghan gone since the day she learned of her existence and regards the banishment as overdue.

An Iron fey lieutenant with hair like arcing lightning, once one of the old Iron King's officers and now the leader of a resistance among the Iron fey themselves. His people refuse to serve the king who took Machina's crown, and he seeks Meghan out because he believes the crown was never that king's to take.

The Iron fey's new ruler, who claimed Machina's crown after his death and whose realm is spreading into the Nevernever far faster than his predecessor's ever did. The Iron rebels call him a usurper and a false king; the old courts, still refusing to admit that the Iron fey exist at all, are running out of ground on which to deny him.

Mab's son, exposed in the war over the Scepter of the Seasons as the traitor who sold Winter to the Iron fey. He never came back to his mother's court, and Meghan's party finds him still in Iron service when they cross into the realm.

First appears in chapter 18

A gremlin of the Iron Realm, small, wire-thin and all teeth, who takes an immediate liking to Meghan's party and refuses to be left behind. He speaks in fragments, chews through anything mechanical within reach, and is destructive without meaning any harm by it.

The Iron Realm's first king, who ruled before Machina took the crown from him. He did not die when he lost the throne, and the long years since have left him with a considerable grievance and a great deal of knowledge about how the crown actually works.
