Miyamoto forces the rival Chosen to withdraw, while William breaks from the primordial who manipulated him. The Risen leave Earth and the Holy Church begins its own retreat. Jake returns to Haven, accepts a council-based government, and wins election as World Leader with Miranda, the Fallen King, Miyamoto, and Arthur as ministers. Earth chooses to face its future Prima Guardian alone. After bringing Scarlet Allyson to the Order, Jake completes all nine legendary legacy skills. The book ends with Jake and Sim Jake training in a time-dilated chamber for a risky mythical skill and an unresolved merger with Eternal Hunger before Jake evolves.

His closest allies include Haven's administrator Miranda, his hawk companion Sylphie, the warrior Carmen, and fellow Earth leaders such as Jacob, Casper, Caleb, Arnold, and the Sword Saint. Jake's connection to Villy gives him access to the Malefic Viper's legacy, but he wants his accomplishments and relationships to stand on their own. He trains at the Order of the Malefic Viper while remaining tied to the unsettled politics of Earth. Sim Jake, a distinct self created through a prior simulation, persists inside Jake's soul space with memories and abilities that differ from Jake's own. Earth remains divided among factions and powerful individuals, with no single accepted world government.

Jake, Reika, Irin, Bastilla, and a malefic dragonkin enter the Nine Floors of the Indigo Caverns. They complete the four mandatory floors, then continue through increasingly difficult alchemical trials. Bastilla's dismantling supplies materials, Irin supports the party, and Reika works beside Jake on the required crafts. The dragonkin keeps fighting on a flooded floor despite trauma tied to the loss of his community and becomes Jake's primary combat partner. On the ninth floor, Jake, Reika, and the dragonkin turn their shared hostility toward the dungeon's Mushroom Men into a specialized life-affinity curse. The party then confronts the C-grade Mushroom Man King and the enormous fungus sustaining it. Jake poisons the connected root system while the dragonkin kills the king. A legacy vision helps Jake complete a legendary upgrade to Touch of the Malefic Viper, but the vision exposes his hidden connection to his patron. Irin recognizes him as the Chosen, and Villy publicly confirms that he is the Malefic Viper. Jake refuses to silence his companions and instead entrusts them with the truth.

Reika helps the dungeon party accept Jake's identity and preserve the ordinary friendship he wants. Viridia redirects Irin's official report so the secret does not spread through the Order. At Jake's residence, an Altmar elf exposes Nella and her half-ogre attendant as exploiters of Jake's contract-bound elf steward. Jake confronts them and offers the steward a path to freedom, but she chooses to remain with him. When the pair insult Jake and Villy, the steward requests punishment. Jake kills the attendant, while Nella is taken into Order custody under a cover story that reports both as dead. The steward rejects retaliation against their families. Afterward, Jake returns to long-term training. He gains Anomalous Soul of the Heretic Chosen, greatly expanding his mana capacity, and purchases endurance elixirs, rare alchemical materials, new legacy gloves, and a complete defensive equipment set for the steward. He begins a prolonged ritual intended to develop a bee queen. The calm ends when Jake senses an approaching crisis.

A coordinated attack destroys Earth's teleportation network and isolates its major powers. Arthur's United Cities Alliance brings in off-world allies led by a rival Chosen and begins a planetary takeover. The rival attacks Haven, manipulates Jake's emotions, and uses a prepared celestial array to throw him across the planet. Jake kills two of the rival's elite companions before being displaced and orders Miranda to evacuate Haven. The Risen face a combined Church and Alliance assault while Jacob remains unknowingly off Earth. The Fallen King is drawn into a separate fight with an ash-and-flame unique lifeform. Miranda escapes Haven with most of its important residents, and Jake begins crossing a desert with the aid of a powerful sandworm. Casper and the Risen commit to abandoning Earth for a refuge of their own. Arthur also binds the Court of Shadows into his campaign by purchasing assassinations of obstructive city leaders. Caleb accepts the Court's authority despite his personal objections, leaving the takeover supported by several distinct factions with different aims.

Jake and the sandworm hunt C-grade scorpions and recover fragments of a space-attuned meteorite. Jake names the worm Sandy, who consumes the restored object and evolves into a Juvenile Cosmic Genesis Worm with rapid travel and internal spatial chambers. Sandy chooses to accompany Jake after the former sandworm community rejects the new form. While William uses karmic magic to direct vengeful beasts against humans, Jake develops a way to escape confinement by sacrificing his wings to form a corrosive cocoon. A Malefic Viper vision confirms the method, and Wings of the Malefic Viper becomes legendary. Elsewhere, an outside operative tries to recruit Arnold through incentives and emotional influence, but Arnold detects the manipulation and remains neutral. Carmen and Sylphie reject their faction's passive stance and keep hunting together. Jake gains a new momentum-based class skill and coordinates a response with Miranda. At the Grand Mangrove River, Alliance pursuers surround Miranda's refugees just as an unknown humanoid C-grade snake arrives.

The unknown snake protects Miranda's group after learning they serve Jake, then shelters them in the Grand Mangrove River settlement. Miranda gradually replaces the snakes' rule by fear with practical civil order. Jake spends a month hunting C-grades with Sandy, upgrades several archery skills, and tests himself underwater against a powerful shark. He survives severe injury and turns the fight into a breakthrough for his blood-based combat. A legacy vision then shows Villy studying under an old master who shares his bloodline signature. Jake uses the lesson to upgrade Blood of the Malefic Viper, gaining stronger regeneration and a personalized healing potion. Villy identifies the teacher as the First Sage, a pre-System genius with perfect memory. That bloodline made every loss impossible to forget. At the First Sage's request, Villy killed him, preserved his records, and later received his bloodline through a System reward. Jake and Sandy meanwhile approach the Fallen King's battlefield, where the Ashen Phantom Devourer is steadily gaining the advantage.

Jake studies the Ashen Phantom Devourer, a unique lifeform whose ash-filled soul shape enables rapid movement and recovery. He begins creating a mass-delivery neurotoxin designed to restrict that metaphysical body while the Fallen King holds it in place. Across Earth, the Alliance consolidates political control through Court of Shadows assassinations, the Noboru Clan fractures, and Haven remains contested. William seeks a confrontation with Jake as the missing step in his evolution. Sandy receives a true blessing from the Boundless Hydra and becomes its Chosen without giving up independence. The blessing improves Sandy and grants a secret divine skill that produces a sphere Jake can use to call the worm. Because Sandy cannot descend through Earth's restricted cloud layers with him, Jake continues alone. He coordinates with Miranda, the Fallen King, and Miyamoto. Their plan is to let the Devourer believe the Fallen King is nearly defeated, then spring Jake's poison attack while Miyamoto keeps the rival Chosen away from the battlefield.

Jake prepares a large supply of soul-targeting poison and waits for the Ashen Phantom Devourer to attack again. The Fallen King feigns weakness, restrains the Devourer's domain, and gives Jake the opening for a vast arrow barrage. The explosions destroy much of the ash body, and Jake keeps the poison active as the unique lifeform collapses inward. The Fallen King spends his innate trump card to shatter the weakened soul and kill the Devourer, leaving himself seriously weakened. Miyamoto intercepts the rival Chosen near Haven. His water, sword, transcendence, and time techniques overcome the invader's artificial sun, after which the rival accepts the mission's failure and leaves Earth. Jake then meets William, who admits helping the invasion under his primordial master's guidance. Jake and the Fallen King expose the false ideas used to control him and press him to choose his own reason for progressing. William rejects his blessing. Jake lets him live under a firm warning never to threaten Jake's family or allies again, then departs for Haven with the weakened Fallen King.

Sandy carries Jake and the Fallen King back to Haven, where Miranda has resumed leadership and Miyamoto has contained the Alliance personnel. Jake declares his intention to seek world leadership. Miranda proposes a government in which Jake serves as Earth's deterrent while up to five ministers handle administration and represent humans and monsters. The group selects Arthur as the needed human representative despite his failed coup. Arthur surrenders, accepts responsibility, and agrees to serve without abandoning his independent convictions. The Risen have moved their dungeon and surviving population to a refuge world, while the Holy Church withdraws its faithful and pressures the newly evolved Jacob to leave Earth. Jake visits his family and receives their support before returning to political preparations. Arnold remains independent and asks Jake for materials for his C-grade technology and artificial-soul constructs. At the Grand Mangrove River, Jake activates a formation that can reach the first universe. The snake who saved Miranda chooses the name Scarlet Allyson, and Jake gains a controlled route back to the Order.

Scarlet accepts Jake's invitation to seek membership in the Order. Jake upgrades Sense of the Malefic Viper through a vision of Villy adapting beast alchemy to a soul-bound cauldron, reaching the D-grade profession cap. He reunites with Sylphie and meets her parents, Hawkey and Misty. At the Third World Congress, Jake openly identifies himself as the Malefic Viper's Chosen and proposes a ministerial government. He wins election as World Leader with 93 percent of the vote and appoints Miranda, the Fallen King, Miyamoto, and Arthur, leaving one beast seat vacant. The Congress then reveals Earth's final trial. A Prima Guardian and army will arrive in five years, and Earth will have another five years to defeat them before losing the key to the planetary core. Earth votes to fight without joining a planetary alliance.

Jake uses his new authority to permit Scarlet and other powerful beasts to enter human territory. He gathers Sandy, Sylphie, Misty, and Sylphie's father in Haven, but only Scarlet chooses to accompany him to the Order. There, Irin registers Scarlet for a membership evaluation, while Jake's elf steward continues maintaining the delayed bee-queen ritual and remains contract-bound. Jake turns to Sagacity of the Malefic Viper. A final legacy vision reveals that the First Sage helped young Villy create Sagacity as an expandable library of alchemical knowledge, but an unknown attention notices Jake within the vision and abruptly ends it. Jake upgrades Sagacity to legendary, absorbs Herbology and Toxicology into it, and improves Identify. All nine of his Malefic Viper legacy skills are now legendary. Villy provides a time-dilated chamber for Jake's last major preparation before evolution. Jake and Sim Jake begin repeated soul-space duels while working toward a mythical skill based on Shadow Vault and a risky plan to merge Sim Jake with Eternal Hunger. The merger and Jake's C-grade evolution have not yet occurred.

Jake returns to the Order with Scarlet Allyson, while Sandy, Sylphie, Misty, and Sylphie's father stay behind. His nine Malefic Viper legacy skills are legendary, but his D-grade work is unfinished. In Villy's time chamber, Jake and Sim Jake repeatedly duel while preparing an uncertain mythical skill built around Shadow Vault and a proposed merger between Sim Jake and Eternal Hunger. Jake's evolution, the merger's result, the fifth minister, and the planetary trial remain unresolved.
