The Two Swords characters
Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.
Drizzt Do'Urden (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
A dark elf ranger reunited with the friends he mistakenly mourned, though the war has taken Tarathiel and Delly and left Bruenor badly wounded. Drizzt now fights with allies again while trying to distinguish defense from the vengeance that nearly consumed him.
Bruenor Battlehammer (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
King of Mithral Hall, gravely injured in the defense that stopped Obould's immediate assault. Bruenor's survival matters to the dwarves as both a personal hope and a political question, since a continuing war requires someone able to unite scattered forces.
Catti-brie (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
Bruenor's adopted daughter and Drizzt's partner. Catti-brie helps hold the companions together around Bruenor's sickbed and brings Taulmaril to the renewed fighting when the siege gives way to a struggle over the surrounding land.
Wulfgar (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
Bruenor's foster son, carrying Aegis-fang and grieving Delly's death. Wulfgar must decide what responsibility to Colson now requires and whether his future lies with the companions or with the northern people from whom he first came.
Regis (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The halfling member of the Companions of the Hall. Regis survives the siege and supports Wulfgar through the practical journey created by Delly's death, while remaining a trusted scout and negotiator in Bruenor's wider cause.
Colson (Minor)
Appears from the start
The child whom Wulfgar and Delly raised after leaving Auckney. With Delly dead and war surrounding Mithral Hall, Colson's need for a secure home forces Wulfgar to settle an obligation that courage in battle cannot answer.
Innovindil (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The elf warrior who helped pull Drizzt out of solitary vengeance. Innovindil continues the campaign after Obould killed Tarathiel, combining aerial scouting and patience with a determination that grief should sharpen her purpose without owning it.
Obould Many-Arrows (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 4
The orc king whose army has failed to take Mithral Hall but controls much of the country around it. Obould must turn a coalition built for conquest into something that can survive winter, rival chiefs and the competing ambitions of his giant allies.
Gerti Orelsdottr (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 4
The frost giant leader allied with Obould. Gerti's warriors remain the coalition's strongest answer to dwarven fortifications, but she has her own claim to authority and no intention of letting an orc king convert her aid into permanent command over the giants.
Banak Brawnanvil (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
A veteran commander responsible for Mithral Hall's disciplined defense. Banak must convert survival under siege into a workable campaign outside the gates without spending dwarf lives as if Obould's enormous host can be defeated in one charge.
Torgar Hammerstriker (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
The shield dwarf leader whose break with Mirabar brought experienced soldiers to Bruenor's side. Torgar helps connect Mithral Hall's defense to the wider dwarf response and presses for action against the invaders holding the surface approaches.
Shoudra Stargleam (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
Mirabar's sceptrana and an ally of the dwarves after choosing regional defense over her city's cautious politics. Shoudra's magic and judgment remain useful as Bruenor's coalition shifts from holding fixed fortifications to coordinating separate forces.
Nanfoodle Buswilligan (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
The gnome inventor whose explosives helped save Mithral Hall. Nanfoodle remains with the defenders as they assess what his devices accomplished and look for ways to contest an enemy who still holds the numerical advantage.
Tos'un Armgo (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 6
A drow swordsman embedded in the forces that helped unleash Obould's invasion. Tos'un has survived the collapse of the hidden drow scheme and now looks for an escape from allies who are increasingly willing to spend one another for advantage.
