The Unhoneymooners characters

By Deacon Lee, Christina Lauren

Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.

Olive Torres (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

Ami's identical twin sister, habitually convinced that she is the unlucky one of the pair. Olive is between jobs when she serves as maid of honor at Ami's elaborate bargain-funded wedding. Protective of her family, candid, and wary of easy optimism, she has maintained an open dislike of the groom's brother since their first awkward meeting.

Ami Torres (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Olive's identical twin, whose remarkable success in contests and giveaways has paid for most of her wedding. Ami is energetic, organized, and deeply invested in giving her relationship with Dane a celebratory beginning. She is accustomed to balancing Olive's pessimism with her own confidence that things will work out.

Ethan Thomas (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Dane's older brother and best man, who has a long-running antagonistic relationship with Olive. Ethan appears reserved and judgmental to her, and he avoids the wedding buffet because of his eating habits. That choice leaves him unexpectedly able to use a honeymoon intended for his brother.

Dane Thomas (Supporting)

Appears from the start

Ami's new husband and Ethan's younger brother. Sociable and confident, Dane met Ami through the connection between their siblings and now enjoys the expensive wedding and honeymoon she assembled largely through competition prizes.

Olive and Ami's Mother (Supporting)

Also known as Mrs. Torres

Appears from the start

Olive and Ami's mother, part of the large, closely involved family surrounding the twins. She is outspoken, affectionate, and quick to involve herself in her daughters' lives, providing both pressure and dependable support when a crisis draws the family together.

Diego (Minor)

Appears from the start

A member of Olive's extended family and one of the relatives who form her lively support network. Diego is familiar with the twins' contrasting temperaments and remains present through the upheaval surrounding Ami's wedding and its aftermath.

Mr. Hamilton (Minor)

First appears in chapter 5

Olive's new employer, whom she unexpectedly encounters at the Maui resort. Because he believes she is there on her own honeymoon, Olive has to preserve the appearance that she and Ethan are newly married in both their professional and personal interactions.

Sophie (Minor)

First appears in chapter 6

Ethan's former girlfriend, encountered with her new partner at the same Maui resort. Her presence makes Ethan reluctant to admit that he is using his brother's honeymoon and adds another audience before whom he and Olive must behave like an affectionate married couple.
