A researcher from the corporate program that experimented with the protomolecule, held prisoner with his colleagues since the project was exposed. He narrates his captivity precisely and without self-pity, is conspicuously untroubled by what the project did, and does not regard the work as a crime. What he misses is not his freedom but the research.
