To Hell and Back

By Joshua Dalzelle

The thirteenth entry in the Omega Force series finds Jason and the crew of the Devil's Fortune and the Phoenix hunting Seven, a dominant assassin personality that has taken over the battle-synth body shared with their crewmate Lucky. After an old contact is nearly beaten to death by unknown attackers hunting information about that body, the crew races to decode his hidden data while trying to intercept Seven before he completes his next contract kill. Jason commits to a capture-first approach meant to save Lucky, with orders to kill Seven only if containment fails, even as evidence mounts that Lucky's mind and the assassin body's systems may be irreconcilable. The search leads the crew from a broker's bar turned massacre site to an armed confrontation with an unidentified organized force, while Seven continues operating on contracts of his own.
