Torith
By SunriseCV
The second entry in the System Universe series follows Derek as he arrives in the tiered city of Torith with his companions Thomas and Silvi, guided by House Gracefall's captain Bronson. At the city's elite Crown Restaurant, Derek negotiates lucrative contracts over a void beast hide and a drink he calls coffee, quickly drawing the attention of Torith's nobility. When House Gracefall's head, Walter, confronts him over his son's death, Derek explains what happened, and the two reach an uneasy understanding that includes protection for the village Derek is looking after. While pursuing rank with the Adventurer's Guild, Derek also weighs how to keep his rescued ally Brandi safe from Torith's city lord, a powerful figure known to force people into slave contracts.
