Uncrowned characters

By Will Wight

Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.

Lindon (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

An Underlord sacred artist from the remote, backward region of Sacred Valley, competing in the Uncrowned King tournament under the banner of the Akura clan. He fights with destructive Blackflame madra and refined pure madra, supplements his power with Soulsmith-made constructs and tools, and works from an unconventional Path built around emptiness and hunger rather than a single great clan's inheritance. Dismissed by rivals from the established powers as a backwater nobody, he relies on preparation, adaptability, and the rapid analysis of a spirit-companion in his mind to overcome opponents with far grander lineages.

Yerin (Protagonist)

Appears from the start

Lindon's closest companion and one of the Akura team's fiercest competitors, a sword artist trained as the disciple of the late Sage of the Endless Sword. She fights with blistering sword madra, the Endless Sword technique that fills the air with cutting force, and a blood shadow drawn from her own life. Blunt, combative, and fearless, she treats the tournament as a proving ground and throws herself at the strongest opponents she can find.

Eithan Arelius (Supporting)

Appears from the start

The patron and teacher of Lindon and Yerin, an eccentric and endlessly cheerful sacred artist of the Arelius family who guides the Akura team. A master of Hollow and Void arts that let him perceive and unravel at a distance, he is far more capable than his easy manner suggests, and he steers his students through the tournament toward ends he rarely explains.

Akura Mercy (Supporting)

Also known as Mercy

Appears from the start

A good-natured princess of the powerful Akura clan and a friend who competes alongside Lindon and Yerin. She wields the Book of Eternal Night, a living weapon of shadow madra that takes the form of a bow, and draws on the clan's Path of shadow. Gentler than her family's ruthless reputation, she balances loyalty to the Akura with genuine friendship for her lower-born teammates.

Dross (Supporting)

Appears from the start

A talkative spirit that lives within Lindon's mind, recovered from the ruined pocket world of Ghostwater. Dross thinks and calculates far faster than any person, letting him model opponents, pick apart techniques, and feed Lindon options in the middle of a fight. Curious, dramatic, and fond of attention, he has become one of Lindon's greatest advantages.

Sopharanatoth (Antagonist)

Also known as Sophara

First appears in chapter 2

A golden dragon competing under the patronage of the lion Monarch Reigan Shen. Immensely powerful and openly contemptuous of any sacred artist she considers beneath dragons, she treats the tournament as a stage to prove dragon supremacy and marks Lindon and his companions as targets.

Sha Miara

First appears in chapter 3

A competitor from the Sha family of the Ninecloud Court whose power vastly outstrips her apparent youth, having reached a height of advancement almost unheard of for someone her age. Quiet and detached, she is regarded as one of the tournament's clear favorites.

Akura Charity (Supporting)

Also known as Charity

Appears from the start

A Herald of the Akura clan who oversees and advises the clan's young competitors during the tournament. Coolly strategic and bound to the will of the Akura Monarch, she manages the team's interests and watches over Lindon and Yerin's unexpected performance.
