Every entry below is hidden until you open it, and each names the chapter the character first appears in.
Lindon (Protagonist)
Also known as Wei Shi Lindon
Appears from the start
Returned from his ordeal far stronger, and now carrying the mind-spirit Dross, Lindon sets his sights on reaching the Underlord stage, a major threshold that separates true powers from ordinary sacred artists. Driven as ever to close the gap between himself and the great figures around him, he combines his unusual arts, his companions, and his relentless study to push toward a breakthrough that once would have seemed impossible for a former Unsouled. He remains pragmatic, ambitious, and willing to take hard roads to grow.
Yerin (Protagonist)
Appears from the start
Lindon's sword-artist companion, herself grown considerably stronger and pressing toward the same heights he aims for. Fierce and direct as always, she pursues advancement alongside him, the two continuing to rise together as the powers taking notice of them grow ever greater.
Eithan Arelius (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The eccentric, immensely powerful head of the Arelius family, and the patron who has guided Lindon and Yerin from the start. Far stronger than his playful manner suggests, he continues to steer his charges toward power while pursuing designs of his own.
Dross (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The talkative mind-spirit bound to Lindon during his ordeal in the ancient realm, now a constant companion residing in his spirit. Dross greatly sharpens Lindon's perception, memory, and analysis of techniques, and his curious, humorous presence makes him one of Lindon's most valuable assets as he strives for a major breakthrough.
Orthos (Supporting)
Appears from the start
The great black tortoise bound to Lindon through the Blackflame arts, steadier and more himself since their shared trials. A powerful ally, he supports Lindon as the stakes rise and far greater powers turn their attention toward him.
Little Blue (Supporting)
Also known as Sylvan Riverseed
Appears from the start
The Sylvan Riverseed Lindon calls Little Blue, a small elemental spirit of pure madra grown more capable since her early days with him. Gentle and childlike, she refines and purifies madra, quietly aiding Lindon's cultivation as he pushes toward the Underlord threshold.
Jai Daishou (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 4
The patriarch of the Jai clan, a powerful and vengeful figure who moves against Eithan and the Arelius family as part of a long-running feud. Proud and ruthless, he represents the established powers threatened by the Arelius family's rise and by Eithan in particular. His schemes bring open conflict to Serpent's Grave and force a confrontation with Eithan's true strength.
Akura Mercy (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 6
A cheerful, good-natured young sacred artist of the powerful Akura clan, one of the great families ruled by a Monarch. Friendly and unpretentious despite her exalted background, she befriends Lindon and his companions, and through her their world begins to connect to powers far greater than any they have dealt with before. She wields distinctive arts of shadow and a living weapon, and represents the wider stage that Lindon's growing strength is drawing him toward.
