12 Miles Below IV: The Mite Forge

The fourth book of 12 Miles Below finds Keith Winterscar in the machine-occupied city of Undecider, where the machine commander To'Wrathh has secretly broken from her creator, the sovereign Relinquished, and must hide her defection while recovering from injury. As Lord Atius arrives with reinforcements and Keith continues his occult training, he and To'Wrathh weigh whether to evacuate her remaining forces to the surface, only to learn that a hidden power may destroy any machines who go there. Drawn deeper into To'Wrathh's investigation of an ancient prophecy and a lost human emperor, Keith joins a covert raid on the machine sovereign's archives, then commits to accompanying her on a longer mission once the city's immediate crisis is resolved.
