Wu Ying's Karma Severing Cut fails, but a diversion by his companion lets him take back his true world spirit ring and throw it into the ruler's consuming Dao. The ring contains a continent-sized world. The ruler cannot reject it without contradicting his own Dao, yet consuming it tears apart the unstable union of immortal body, demonic core, and limitless hunger. Wu Ying is alive but absent, with his immortal body, soul integration, core, and link to the ring catastrophically damaged. His wood-cultivator companion remains his committed partner and final rescuer. The sect head survives his wounds, and Fairy Yang becomes temporary right guardian. Only one Iron Pass swordsman survives, permanently injured, and joins Verdant Green Waters as a visiting elder to preserve his tradition. Wei's first prince is reported dead, the first prince of Shen is apparently lost, and regional succession and alliances remain unsettled. Yin Xue survives without his demonic arm and eye, but his meridians are failing.
