A Thousand Li: The Second Expedition

The fourth book of A Thousand Li begins when Long Wu Ying's master, Elder Cheng, returns from a mission poisoned with a rare toxin that will kill him within a matter of seasons. Wu Ying and his martial sister Fa Yuan commit to finding a cure, which requires gathering three difficult-to-obtain ingredients from dangerous spirit beasts and remote territory, while training and recruiting a small expedition team with limited sect support. As Wu Ying balances intensive cultivation and combat training against the ticking clock of his master's illness, the newly assembled group sets out from Verdant Green Waters toward the city of Hinma to begin the search.
