Theo (Protagonist)
Also known as Framkis
Appears from the start
A returning gravity soulcrafter and ally of House Blacksilver, Theo is traveling as Framkis while searching for materials needed to improve his soul home. His work on an Arbai sand-ocean expedition is also connected to the danger surrounding Norro Yorthin.
Fiyu (Protagonist)
First appears in chapter 2
An Ichil light and kante soulcrafter traveling with Theo and Nauda. With her relative's guidance, Fiyu is designing a corporeal floor around her own identity and experiences rather than accepting a plan limited by the expectations of her home world.
Fiyu's relative (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
An authority-level Ichil traveler who guides Fiyu's development. He supplies rare materials and access to distant worlds, but increasingly requires Fiyu to choose and defend the principles of her own soulcrafting design.
Vistul (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 3
Theo's interworld adversary and part of the threat driving his urgency. Theo connects Vistul to dangers beyond the immediate demon attacks and political instability around Norro Yorthin, making further preparation and advancement essential.
Nauda (Protagonist)
First appears in chapter 4
A Tatian healer and natural-material soulcrafter allied with a colony on Celeste. Nauda leads a scouting force, cultivates sublime honey, and is warned by Tithes to seek a weir key as conflict between hives grows.
Queen Yessir (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 4
The queen of Nauda's allied colony on Celeste. Queen Yessir regards Nauda as both an ally and a potential military asset, promotes her to Nauda guard, and prepares for a widening conflict among hives.
Tithes (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 4
Queen Yessir's mate and a politically difficult figure connected to House Crimson. Tithes arrives with a sublime device and warns Nauda that worsening events on Fythe make the recovery of a weir key urgent.
Cree-Cree (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 5
A ruler-tier native of Celeste who rejoins Theo after working on a mushroom farm. Cree-Cree is a capable miner and demon fighter, but is still learning to judge people independently of caste and physical form.
Navim (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 5
An Arbai stone shaper and researcher who collaborates with Theo. Navim tests the gravity-responsive sand brought back from the expedition, agrees to turn it into soul-home windows, and crafts a durable pickaxe for Cree-Cree.
Karcheval (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 7
A traditionalist authority of House Blacksilver. Karcheval distrusts foreign materials and worries that reliance on outsiders could weaken or transform the house from within, placing him at odds with some of Theo's methods and associations.
Senka (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 9
A cursed traveler with extensive soulcrafting knowledge and intermittent lucid awareness. Senka reunites with Theo in a childlike state, briefly warns him not to worsen the plateau conflict, and points him toward a route through another world.
Homes (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 11
An Asplendat soulcrafter who discovers Theo shadowing a Bloodcrete convoy. Homes opposes coerced ideological obedience and, after the confrontation, offers a conditional channel for negotiation if Theo can prove that an outside power is manipulating the conflict.
Jan (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 13
A House Blacksilver authority skilled in stealth and dust control. Jan helps review Theo's evidence from the plateaus and joins the house's investigation of the demon attacks and political pressure there.
Dan (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 13
A House Blacksilver authority and field commander whose armament can freeze enemies and kante attacks within a blue field. Dan appears among the authorities taking responsibility for Theo's plateau investigation.
Wraith Darkblade (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 13
A dangerous apparent Earth-born outsider whom Theo considers a peer. Reports that Wraith Darkblade has ascended again make him a significant unknown amid the growing struggle over the Dustwind Plateaus.
Nanjuma (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 17
Nauda's former mentor and an experienced Tatian ruler. Nanjuma helps her assess materials, confirms that an earlier gate dispute has been settled, and warns that neither Nauda nor Tatian is prepared for the dangers of a giant forest.
Cathina (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 18
A ruler-tier representative of House of Coin at the plateau standoff. Cathina keeps her contingent close enough to matter after Fiyu appeals to her, while bargaining for additional assets before committing further support.
Tithes' father (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 23
A House Crimson power opposed by Tithes. He seeks the demon-summoning artifact and commands an army whose funding is tied to death, making his intervention an immediate danger in the plateau conflict.
