Citybound

By J.L. Mullins

Continuing the Millennial Mage series, newly Refined mage Tala travels alone to the city of Alefast during its waning, a period when hidden magical containment sites holding ancient threats begin to fail and require constant maintenance. Under the guidance of the city's leading paragon, Grediv, she joins a six-member defensive unit, trains alongside experienced immortals, and takes her first solo assignments defending the walls and investigating dangerous creatures. When her unit is sent to stabilize a degrading containment cell deep in the wilderness, they discover it holds an ancient, story-linked prisoner whose very death could be catastrophic, forcing them to find a way to repair the seal without provoking it.
