Crown

By Nicoli Gonnella

The ninth entry in the Unbound series opens with a badly wounded former Protector's Guild elder recruited by a Pathless agent to assassinate Felix Nevarre, in exchange for partial restoration and the promise of full healing once the deed is done. Felix's own party, having just escaped the Vault of Nine Kings with treasure, a superior elemental core, and several wounded companions, finds itself lost in the abandoned dwarven low roads with every clan hunting them for the raid. Unable to return north safely, Felix commits the group to a longer southern route toward Pax Rell, where an ally's family may offer shelter, while he works to master newly evolving powers and manage the volatile, still-transforming spirit-bonded creature Pit. As the party fights through hostile territory and uncovers signs of a far larger conflict involving the gods, an assassin is already en route to find him.
