A spectral survivor of the warlocks encountered during Ogras's isolated trial. He recognizes Ogras's inner shadow as a creature able to cross planes. He says Ogras could subdue it with a soul brand, though the required art is stored in a guarded tower.

A wounded Havarok scout whom Zac ambushes and takes prisoner while seeking information and a route out of the core ocean.

Aether Lord (Antagonist)

A hostile figure encountered within a Creation-shard vision. He denies placing Zac on the shard path and sets a century-long wager requiring Zac to reach him with five shards.

Captive Templar (Minor)

A prisoner whom a princeling exploits as a diviner before the City of Ancients opens. He predicts that Arcaz Black will upset the city's fate and gives the faction's seals less than a month before they break.

A noble who imprisons a Templar for his ability to read fate. In response to the prisoner's forecast about Arcaz Black and the failing seals, he orders heart-sealing brands prepared for his elites and plans to enter the City of Ancients within a month.
