A man at a Fort Lauderdale yacht party who intervenes after finding April unconscious and learning that his sister Gabrielle is trying to rescue her. His attempt to help ends with attackers throwing him into the stormy sea.
Gabrielle (Supporting)

The Earth man's younger sister and April's friend. She calls for help after April is apparently drugged and taken, then uses the fight aboard the yacht as an opportunity to carry April away.

Gabrielle's friend, found unconscious at a yacht party under circumstances that suggest she was drugged. Gabrielle reaches her during the ensuing violence and attempts to remove her from danger.

An unidentified woman with blue-green eyes who appears while Felix is unconscious after a waterfall plunge. She recognizes him, indicates that his journey is unfinished, and compels him to wake, but the nature of the encounter is unclear.
Seven-Legged Oret (Antagonist)

A sentient seven-legged bloodbeast that attacks a small golden-eyed creature near Felix Nevarre's temple. It hunts to cause fear and pain, and it can channel blood-red mana through a ritual attack.
Rescued creature (Supporting)

A small golden-eyed creature rescued when Felix intervenes against a Seven-Legged Oret. The frightened survivor follows Felix after the battle, but its nature, intentions, and connection to the remains found nearby are not yet known.
Pit (Supporting)

The rescued creature is a young male Tenku, a chimeric pack hunter with keen senses and little physical power. Felix names him Pit and forms a life-binding Companion Pact to save him after a beetle inflicts a mortal wound.

The armored master whose underground domain held Felix and Pit. The Archon commands iron servants and Helga, probes minds through powerful compulsion, and recognizes Felix's bronze sword and connection to an ancient people.

The Archon's enormous tunneling worm, capable of moving through solid rock. She pursues Felix and Pit across a broken bridge above lava and swallows Felix during their escape from the volcanic complex.

A missing silver-rank finder who formerly worked beside Magda Aren and Harn Kastos. Harn remembers her skill at locating lost things and her intermittent romantic relationship with Magda, but her present circumstances are unknown.
Ancient tower inhabitant

An unnamed presence within an ancient tower that notices the discordance in Felix Nevarre's magic and becomes curious about him. It regards the tower as an extension of itself while covertly watching Felix Nevarre and his companions.
Elder Geist (Supporting)

An ancient watcher of Shelem who sees through the Foglands and cannot be identified by Analyze. The Geist questions Felix's motives, distinguishes his apparent Nym nature from another origin, and warns him that his hunger has marked his spirit.
Risi chieftain (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 53
A huge and heavily armored Risi leader who commands the operation around the warded Capitol. Harn observes him leaving during a recurring guard change, creating the brief opening on which the planned prisoner rescue depends.
The Unending Maw (Antagonist)

First appears in chapter 74
The imprisoned primordial of hunger that used the form of the Nym woman it consumed. It claims responsibility for Felix's altered race and hunger-based gifts, having shaped him as a prospective vessel while directing corrupted servants from captivity.
Unidentified speaker (Minor)
First appears in chapter 77
An unknown voice that contacts surviving Risi through a steel-plated sonic relay. The speaker says the primordial and Felix have died, then recruits the survivors to serve a new father belowground. The speaker's identity remains unresolved.
