Dragonslayer

By Craig Alanson

The second entry in the Convergence series picks up just after wizard Kazimir Wolfe seals a dangerous portal, only to learn that a dragon and a wyvern escaped into rural Ohio before it closed. Nearly blind and gravely weakened from the effort, Kazimir relies on his talking dog Duke and a small band of allies, including knights displaced from another era, to evade both police attention and the shadowy Order hunting him while tracking the loose creatures. The search turns up an unexpected ally in a stranded, pledge-bound magical cat, even as the team races to recover evidence from the original ritual before local sightings expose magic to the wider world.
