After the failed domain battle, Felix Nevarre returns to a Harwatch overrun by mana-warped revenants. He stabilizes his own dangerous advancement, aids Cal’s refugee camp, rescues miners from the Inquisition, and trains under Zara while primordial corruption threatens his judgment. A territorial contest draws every faction into the revenant nest, where Felix destroys the Ravager King’s scales but Eliza DuFont gains control of the city. DuFont abandons Harwatch’s outer defenses as the Archon’s constructs and Foglands monsters invade. Felix resists Vellus’s attempt to bind him, transforms into a Lesser Primordial of the Unseen Tide, and rejoins the defense. He kills DuFont in a formal challenge but refuses the authority, allowing Cal, now revealed as Kaleska Bosco, to accept it. Cal helps repel the assault, while Felix severs the Archon’s control over Apollyon and frees the frost giant within. Harwatch survives in ruins. Felix recovers the Nemean key and is directed toward a Nemean temple as the Archon remains active nearby.

Previously: Felix Nevarre and Pit became bound companions while Felix developed an unusual connection to primordial power. Felix is one of the Unbound and has survived contact with the Maw, whose influence altered both his abilities and his relationship with the System. He also formed a link with Vellus through an ancient blood gate. In Harwatch, Felix and his allies were drawn into a failed domain and fought the Ravager King. The collapse scattered survivors and released dangerous creatures into the city. Felix and Pit endured the final battle. Vessilia Dayne, Evie Aren, Atar V'as, Harn, Cal, Rory, and other allies were left amid the disaster, while the status of the wider city remained uncertain.

Felix awakens with Pit beneath Harwatch’s ruined cathedral after the Ravager King’s defeat. Revenants released by the failed domain are multiplying throughout the city, and Felix uses Ravenous Tithe to consume their corrupted essence while trying to relieve the dangerous pressure in his own core. Zara Cyrene finds him and confirms that Vessilia, Evie, and the other survivors reached Cal’s warehouse camp. At the camp, Felix becomes a public symbol of protection, though many know him only as the blue-eyed fiend. He undergoes painful Journeyman tempering, gains new body and spirit formations, and learns that Vellus has been guiding his choices through their link. Pit grows into a much larger winged form. Meanwhile, Eliza DuFont takes practical control of the remaining Inquisition in the Sunrise Quarter. She manipulates the crisis to strengthen her position, while rival Inquisitors press for executions. The Guild pursues its own interests by studying captive revenants and confirms that the creatures can continue growing stronger. Harwatch is now divided among competing powers as its monster crisis accelerates.

The Archon, an ancient construct unable to cross its own gate, sends three creations toward Harwatch and seeks a lost key. Felix tells Zara, Cal, and Harn about his Unbound status, his altered race, and the Maw. They conclude that the Archon intends to exploit the revenant disaster as part of an outside assault. Felix struggles to control his newly tempered abilities, while Vessilia and Evie turn their attention to helping the refugee camp. Felix strengthens the camp wall, then discovers that Atar and Alistair are among the people suffering severe primordial corruption. Ravenous Tithe removes much of their affliction but cannot provide a complete cure. Pit awakens as a massive Tenku and is publicly recognized as Felix’s companion. When the Inquisition seizes a mine needed for iron, Cal sends Felix, Vessilia, Evie, Pit, and Thaddeus Thangle to rescue the trapped workers and Rory. Under Thangle’s concealment, they clear the first courtyard. A memory taken from a slain initiate reveals more Inquisition troops, imprisoned miners fitted with mana-draining collars, and a larger fight still ahead.

Felix’s team attacks the Inquisition force around the mine. He kills an initiate who threatens chained workers, but his growing rage nearly overwhelms him until Pit and Thangle calm him. An older Inquisition fighter later outmatches and wounds Felix, then escapes after freeing captured acolytes. The allies evacuate the miners and remove their core-suppressing collars. Rory survives, though injured. Aenea Tillil and her alchemical apprentices join the refugees, as does Hector, whose sigildry helps secure the mine and improve the camp’s wards. Back at the warehouse, Felix recognizes that raw attributes cannot replace technique and that the Maw-related corruption may be altering his emotions. Zara begins oath-bound instruction in chant magic for Felix, Evie, and Vessilia, but Felix’s anger repeatedly disrupts his control. Rory retrains his damaged weapon skills. Zara then discovers that Felix’s core has reached an unusually advanced ring stage. Felix hunts revenants for essence and combines his repaired combat skills into Wild Threnody, an epic mana-imbuing discipline. The evolution succeeds, but it ends with another violent episode and a gap in Felix’s memory, confirming that his instability now endangers allies as well as enemies.

A territory-wide quest then offers Harwatch’s authority to whoever destroys the revenant nest, turning the emergency into a race among the camp, Guild, and Inquisition. Inside his Bastion of Will, Felix finds crimson corruption threaded through his mental defenses. He and Pit repair the structure, and Felix severs many links between his skills and the primordial echoes stored near his core, reducing but not eliminating the influence. He then tests a plan to attract revenants so newly trained volunteers can gain strength. During the hunt, a mana-warped ghoul attacks near a wagon carrying civilians who escaped an Inquisition roundup. Felix, Vessilia, Atar, and Thangle defeat it, while Pit shields the survivors from pursuing acolytes. Ravenous Tithe yields a large new concentration of primordial essence from the ghoul. The rescued civilians confirm that the Inquisition has been removing people from the Drum Tank Inn, but the reason for the captures remains unknown.

Felix learns basic alchemy from Aenea and helps Hector develop modular wall wards powered by recharged monster cores. Even with regular hunts and production work, the camp loses fighters as ghouls become more common. Ilya, a face-changing Sworn operative, infiltrates the settlement and covertly gathers tactical intelligence for her employer. Zara separately enters the Inquisition camp under her Anna identity and confirms the use of chained mine labor. A corrupted Chorister of Siva reaches the warehouse and identifies the revenant nest beneath the primary pump station. She says Ravager King scales transformed members of her group, though Felix still detects an unexplained anomaly after cleansing her. Cal launches an expedition. Evie remains behind but pursues an intruder who defeats her and escapes, leaving Evie separated from the main force. At the pump-station square, Felix’s advance party encounters a Guild expedition seeking the same authority reward. Lillian turns the guilders against Felix, and their silver-ranked commander refuses cooperation. Fighting begins before either group can enter the nest. A revenant horde and a powerful ghoul then pour from the pump station, forcing both sides to confront the monsters as Felix’s force pushes toward the entrance.

Felix seals the pump-station entrance behind the expedition and follows the Chorister through Nymian waterworks. Evie, meanwhile, infiltrates an Inquisition column and learns that hundreds of soldiers are approaching the nest through the sewers. The expedition discovers injured Choristers and Guild elders gathered around a Scale of the Ravager King. Two Choristers transform into powerful primordial spawn. Felix uses Unite the Lost to restore the Chorister of Siva, but Pride of Blight escapes after a severe fight. Felix consumes the Scale, causing the nearby horde to retreat while worsening the accumulation inside his core. Cal forms an elite party to continue toward the nest, accepting Elder Olivia Regis and another Guild elder as restricted allies. They discover an immense chamber containing thousands of spawn and an immobile Larval Broodmother beneath a giant enchanted crystal. Felix plans to collapse the crystal onto the Broodmother. The Inquisition attacks from another entrance, with Evie still disguised among its troops. She steals a supply wagon and disrupts their formation while Felix climbs above the chamber to place sigil grenades in the crystal’s support. Before he can finish, an unknown green bolt strikes his first grenade and triggers an early explosion.

Felix survives the premature blast and resumes his demolition attempt while Zara blocks Eliza DuFont from reaching the Broodmother. Evie drives the stolen supply wagon through the Inquisition line, and Cal’s group turns its volatile contents into a weapon. Felix finally tears the crystal loose, but Pride of Blight redirects its fall toward his allies. He diverts it, kills the corrupted Chorister after Unite the Lost fails, and begins consuming the remaining Ravager King scales. Their destruction drains linked spawn across the nest. Three constructs sent by the Archon activate a concealed profane array. It extracts hidden energy from Felix, strengthens the constructs, destroys the Broodmother, and disables Harwatch’s city wall. Felix races DuFont and Ilya for the final Scale while a Guild elder attempts to control the array. Felix absorbs the Scale and survives the resulting collapse, but the territorial authority initially goes to DuFont. Buried beneath the ruins and separated from Pit, Felix encounters Vellus within his core. She shows him a likely future in which DuFont destroys his people and offers power in exchange for making Felix her chosen Ascendant. He agrees only to save his friends, but Vellus imposes the stronger binding by force. Felix has three days to challenge DuFont for control of Harwatch.

Felix resists Vellus with Pit’s help, forms a second core ring, and breaks her direct hold. He survives simultaneous Journeyman tempering of mind and body, gains protection against unwanted oaths, and escapes the collapsed nest. After absorbing both primordial and divine essence nodes, he becomes a Lesser Primordial of the Unseen Tide with transformed cores and a stronger perception of hidden connections. DuFont returns from the nest grievously wounded but uses Harwatch’s authority to execute Huthorn, fortify only the Sunrise Quarter, and strip protection from the rest of the city. Foglands monsters and the Archon’s Reforged attack through the failed defenses. Felix and Pit reach the warehouse camp during a devastating assault and defeat an Archid commander. By taking its memory, Felix sees that the Archon has been making constructs and Reforged from imprisoned frost giants and is preparing for the blood moon. The Archon detects Felix within the stolen memory and attacks him there, but Felix escapes through his bonds. Pit rallies wounded civilians, and the reunited defenders turn the immediate battle. The camp survives, though the citywide invasion and DuFont’s authority remain unresolved.

With fewer than half the camp’s defenders alive, Felix repairs the wall and helps evacuate survivors. Zara returns with reinforcements. The allies decide they must challenge DuFont before the Archon’s forces kill her and make the authority unattainable. Felix, Vessilia, Evie, Cal, Harn, and Atar breach the Sunrise Quarter, using a pursuing monster horde to break its gate. DuFont seals them inside with two Archids and hundreds of Reforged, all empowered by the blood moon. Felix kills the earth-wielding Archid called Mud. Cal, Evie, and Harn capture DuFont, while Vessilia, Atar, Alistair, Rory, and the other defenders hold the second Archid and its controlled horde. Felix kills that construct as well, but it releases Berserk Blood through the monsters. Cal formally challenges DuFont, who answers with Song of Fury and incapacitates her. A level 73 Archonic Construct then breaches the outer defenses. Ilya isolates Evie, but Evie poisons and defeats her. As Felix continues fighting DuFont, he senses an extensive web of bonds across Harwatch. Unite the Lost carries power through those connections, Thangle’s prepared array restrains the giant construct, and Felix’s former Rain of Vellus evolves into a transcendent new ability.

Felix’s evolved Adamant Discord lets him move along the hidden connections he perceives, though every use strains his aspects. He no longer senses Rain of Vellus or his former affiliation with Vellus. Evie restores the injured Cal, while Felix, Evie, and Harn continue wearing down DuFont. Felix formally challenges DuFont for Harwatch’s authority and kills her. He accepts the office only long enough to learn that the System would restrict him because he is Unbound and primordial. His protection against forced oaths allows him to refuse it, and the authority passes to Cal. Cal accepts under her full identity, Kaleska Bosco, and uses the city’s power to weaken the remaining monsters and pin Apollyon, the colossal construct attacking the defenders. The Archon speaks through Apollyon, but Felix and Harwatch reject its control. Felix severs the connection and restores the construct to the frightened frost giant from which it was made, then permits the giant to flee. Four days later, Harwatch is damaged but stable enough for treatment, searches, and monster clearance. Cal directs the recovery while survivors guard the breached wall. The Inquisition remnants flee. Zara returns Felix’s hooked bronze blade, revealing it as the Nemean key. Felix must now seek the Nemean temple as the Archon remains active in the Foglands.

Felix defeats Eliza DuFont in a formal challenge and kills her, but the authority would restrict him because he is both Unbound and primordial. His Tyrant of Choice title releases him from the required oath, so he refuses the office. It passes to Cal, whose full identity is Kaleska Bosco. She accepts and uses Harwatch’s authority to weaken the remaining monsters and restrain the largest construct. Felix then breaks the Archon’s link to Apollyon, revealing the construct’s underlying frost giant, and lets the frightened survivor escape into the Foglands. Four days later, Cal is still learning to govern a devastated city. Portia and Aenea Tillil direct treatment, survivors are being recovered, and a makeshift force guards the breached wall. Felix, Pit, Zara, Vessilia, Evie, Harn, Atar, and their principal allies survive. Darius Reed is injured while protecting Vessilia. The remaining Inquisition forces flee and will carry word of Felix and Harwatch outward. Zara returns Felix’s hooked bronze blade, which is revealed as the Nemean key. A new objective sends him back to the Nemean temple, while the Archon remains active in the Foglands and a nearer darkness is still unresolved.
