Salvatore "Sal" Argento (Protagonist)
Also known as Myth, Mythcrafter
Appears from the start
The series viewpoint character, returning to Quest Academy for his second semester as its top-ranked first-year Savior. His silver eyes appraise any object in exact detail, and his fused Mythcrafter ability builds extraordinary gear from powers he has copied with Skill Master. Now founding a support-focused crafting guild, he splits his time between coursework, close-combat training in his family's martial style, and increasingly ambitious builds, while carefully guarding how far his abilities really reach.
Fabrizia "Fabi" (Supporting)
Appears from the start
A top-ranked third-year support student and Sal's crafting partner and guild co-founder. Her Figment ability conjures materials from ambient essence, making her one of the most capable crafters on the Savior floor. Warm, quick, and competitive, she runs dungeons to gather stock, co-designs Sal's biggest projects, and often commits him to deadlines and plans before he can object.
Divinity Khan (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 14
A foresight-gifted friend and Sal's closest confidant, whose eyes turn white when she reads possible futures. Back at the Academy she trains privately in a martial style using a manual Sal's father lent her, and quietly steers Sal away from his worst outcomes while refusing to spoil the good ones. Candid and loyal, she registers his private realizations almost as he has them.
Barry Francis (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 9
A low-ranked illusionist and one of Sal's sharpest friends, endlessly inventive and quietly top of every subject beneath the clowning. He spends the semester building team-composition and synergy simulations for the Savior class, reads people through body language behind a psionic-blocking layer, and pushes Sal to recruit widely and to stand up for the overlooked.
Upgrade (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 10
Sal's crafting mentor and Quest Academy's workshop lecturer, whose ability turns her gear into powered mechanical armor. Warm but exacting, she teaches the new essence-programming course, accepts a lavish device from Sal as a bribe to join his guild as a mentor, and repeatedly shields him and his friends from unwanted scrutiny over their abilities.
Blathnaid McClean (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 15
A crafting classmate and steady friend with a Construct ability that builds finished gear from materials at hand. Modest about her own talent and quick to spot a design flaw, she signs on as the elixir machine's fabrication contractor and recruits others to the build.
Anthony McGuinn (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 15
A rune-focused first-year classmate with a striking natural aptitude for essence-programming logic, outpacing even Sal in the new course. Self-conscious but genuinely gifted, he is drawn into Sal's elixir-machine build and crafting circle and offers to serve as the guild's essence-programming specialist.
Hannah (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 22
A barrier-ability classmate estranged from Sal since a mind-control-driven outburst before the break. She approaches him on her own initiative to apologize and return the gauntlets he once made her; he refuses to take them back, and the two agree to restart their friendship honestly. Raised far from hero culture by a family without abilities, she attends the Academy on scholarship.
Jack (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 15
A rune-focused classmate and one of Sal's close friends, reunited with the group in the semester's first class. His rune craft is its own discipline, separate from ability-based essence work, and he is keen to push it further through the Academy's new coursework alongside Anthony and Blathnaid.
Vanessa (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 2
A former Quest Academy graduate who left ranked first in her class yet now quietly works the Academy's credit floor, mistreated by the guild that once scouted her and waiting for a way back into hero work. She has already asked to join Sal's forming guild as an advisor.
Villa (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 51
An established offense-class hero and a returning ally from Sal's earlier semesters, blunt and formidable. She has visited the Academy's guild administration claiming a place as a third advisor to Sal's young guild, a step Sal is told would raise expectations for the guild's offensive capability, since a single offense specialist cannot cover every combat contract alone.
Coach (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 64
A tall, imposing masterclass instructor and replicator whose hero ability, also called Coach, lets him instinctively read any ability's limits and prescribe a training path to improve it. Reclusive and unpopular because he must also deliver hard verdicts, he finally arrives at the Academy, on a tight consulting schedule, to evaluate what has been straining Sal's abilities.
Mika (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 20
A composed, analytical offense-class first-year and one of the highest-rated individual combatants in the Savior class, courted by dozens of guilds. Blunt and self-assured, she declares herself best at killing and is skeptical that Sal's small trainee guild is worth her time, though she agrees to watch how it develops.
Seth (Supporting)
Also known as Factor
First appears in chapter 7
A controller-class first-year whose ability splits him into and reabsorbs several clones at a cost to his effectiveness. Proud and easily flustered, he is partnered with Mika and initially wary of Sal before warming to him.
Shade (Antagonist)
First appears in chapter 41
A Delvers Guild figure and long-standing rival of the Argento family who inserts himself into Quest Academy's Savior training, offering to personally tutor the five top-ranked students, Sal among them. Smooth and self-serving, his real interest in Sal's gear and standing makes his motives immediately suspect.
Quest (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 24
Quest Academy's headmaster, who opens the second semester by lifting the harsh first-year war curriculum, restructuring grading, and publicly recognizing Sal's trainee guild. Invested in Sal's success, he balances institutional caution with a genuine, sometimes meddlesome personal stake in his students.
Petro Argento (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 36
Sal's father and an Argento Auction House appraiser, revealed to be a hidden, highly trained martial artist who has been coaching Sal in the family's Silverson Arts. His own appraisal-derived ability, Allsight, turns out to be the strain behind Sal's collapse, and he takes an active on-page role in Sal's recovery and guild.
Anna Sakura (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 21
An offense-class hero known for keeping the Savior sparring room in order, whose essence-nullification ability and assassination-focused masterclass training make her one of the class's most dangerous fighters. An early recruit to Sal's guild, she is respected even by rivals who rate themselves highly.
Rochelle de Verdon (Supporting)
First appears in chapter 86
A battle healer known for a viral clip of a dramatic window-jump and for wielding a formidable healing weapon. Out of her depth without her legendary coat, she joins Sal's guild and is genuinely surprised to learn membership comes with a wage as well as gear.
